while lacking anything to read on the chairlift today i decided to ponder....i wonder what other people read on the chairlift.......myb i am alone on pondering this question that really doesn't need to be answered but its cool to find out anyway

I have always wondered what other ppl read on a chairlift, whether its the instructions on the side of your pole to use them properly, An english paper that you realy don't want to do, what percentage the beer that your drinking is or just screaming out the sign names as you pass them by.

The weirdest thing that i have ever read on the chair was some annoying lady's palm just to creep her out :P

ya i used to do the same thing but i put speakers in my jacket so that i could piss off everyone with the beat at the same time.

i usually read off the swisher sweet box and learn a little bit about kind edwards then i pull the pre-rolled blunt out the box and spark it up.

read on the lift? maybe the map a few times, I guess. I'm not bringin shakespeare on with me..

who reads the map...i just go skiing even if i dont know the resort....but i just usually make a playlist on my ipod

nothing...

when im on the lift im usually conversing about the previous run, the next run, skiing in general, occasionally politics, philosophies on life etc...

small talk with people i dont know...

and if im alone i just sit back and become one with nature and the surroundings...

currently reading 1,000 Years of Solitude,

yeah i mostly read all the little safety signs/check out other people skiing unless i'm on one of those onsie lifts where its just a pole and a seat w/ no side handle thingies (stevens pass upper lift i believe is like that?) in that case im too concentrated on trying to stay relaxed/clinging to the pole for dear life, i always see myself falling off a lift...

i read the signs, stickers and other things on the lift poles.

i also read the back of the nature valley things cause they always give them out at the lift offices.

i also sing out loud? hahah

some hardy boys, nancy drew. maby some kurt vonnegut if im fealling edgy. really w/e hardback books i can fit into my jacket pockets. then when im done reading them i just throw them at people and pick them up on my way down. maby even throw them and then jump off after them if its a pow day and a low spot on the lift, who knows!

On the chairlifts at Ruapehu they have these ads for a chocolate bar (not really related) but they have diagrams of how to do these weird tricks, like "The Frenchman's Pants" where you throw your pants off while doing a frontflip and flick snow up with your tail and they make snow pants on you. Snowboard diagram of course but funny stuff

hahaha, I've done that before! not night skiing, but on really cold days when there's nothing covering my face. when I'm on the lift I'll pull my hood up and zip it around my helmet (warm as fuck btw) and when it covers my goggs I can stare at my eyes and look around.
