Favorite old school park feature

At least he found the tranny.

And there was mention of that god awful AMP bus... can't believe Sugarbush wasted their money on that hunk of junk. That thing should have died at Stowe. It's sad that Okemo got rid of the wallride and replaced it with the AMP bus in the first place.

ohhhh that video gets me every time haha and I woldn't mind seeing a massive tire stall... maybe it's just my park that doesn't have them anymore?

I remember seeing it as the opening gate at the top of the Nor'Easter park, back when their rails were purple. I'm not sure if they still have it because I haven't been there in two years.

I always thought that this gondola jib from Yearbook looked super fun

Haha true. Snoqualmie had a van for a couple years. It was a big deal at the time because it had graffiti on it.

omg way back in 07? This is what happens when 15 year olds make a thread about "old school" stuff.

Also what's old school about that besides your opinion of the date?

The sketchy odd feature that ask you some imagination to figure out how you have to hit it...

I'm 24 actually...and like I said something put up in '07 - today can still be old school. For instance a park crew digging up an old feature that wasn't used for years...or them replicating something that did exist a long time ago.

example = the channel/hip/quarter pipe feature at the thall invitational that took place last year. The feature style is still old school, which is why Tanner brought it back for his event because he missed it.

I'll see if I can get some locals to dig up said footage. Pretty sure a few people went into the side or smashed through the glass to the inside of it last year. I know forsure someone separated a shoulder on it. Anyways it's back this year and the fucking goons at Assholesippi have it set up running across the hill with a jump before it. Except the lip of the jump is below the roofline and the takeoff is way too flat so it projects you into the side... I'll be there this weekend and they're too lazy to do even the most basic park maintenance so I'll doubt they've moved it, therefor I'll take a picture.

Toilet bowl at Squaw.

Not really for jibbing or tricks. Still rad.

Not old school either, assuming its still there.

Still rad.

Been slaying park since '01 and what I miss most are:

1. Channel gaps, because your girlfriend had to pull your nuts out of her purse and let you have them back so you could hit them. They resulted in epic crashes and you just generally felt like the fucking man going that big.

2. The Smith Limo cuz that thing was just that cool. Not to mention it represented a time when it felt like companies were putting a lot more resources into the sport as a hole.

3. Absurdly long rails. Resorts would put them in, trying to out do each other in some sort of arms race of building hilariously long rails. (Often these rails would earn you a season pass if you had footy of yourself greasing the thing). Nothing like spending three days hiking an 85 foot S rail hoping that this time would be the one.

I remember watching Bobby Brown, Drake Unruh, and Gus Kenworthy hitting this thing in Loveland, CO in like 2005.

BRING BACK THE SMITH LIMO
