im not friggen talkin about shit bands like slipknot and goodcharlotte. those rnt hardcore. slipknot is death metal. as far as all the other bands go, they r hardcore. plus, underoath isnt hardcore, but they r good. hardcore badns are: as i lay dying, bleeding through, poison the well, hopesfall is deff hardcore if u listen to their old stuff, every time i die, from atumn to ashes, nora, shia hulud... tons more too lazy.

BANDS THAT ARE HARDCORE ARE THE BANDS THAT I LISED (OTHER THEN GOOD CHARLOTT) AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, THERE IS NOT ALOT OF MUSICAL RELATION BETWEEN THE BANDS THAT I LISTED AND THE BANDS THAT WERE ORIGINALLY LISTED. IM SURE THERE IS SOME, BECUASE THEY BOTH RELATE TO PUNK, BUT THE ONES I LISTED MORE SO. BANDS LIKE THURSDAY, AND ATRAYU, AND AT THE DRIVEIN ARE NOT HARD CORE. THERE ISNT MANY HARDCORE BANDS CURRENTLY. ITS HAYDAY WAS IN THE 80S.

hopesfalls older material, circa 'no wings to speak of/the frailty of words', is some of the best hardcore ive ever heard. the satellite years was somewhat of a change, but incredible nonetheless. but their new album, a types' its actually terrible.

^and saying underoath isnt a hardcore band is only partly true. sure, they have become an emo heavy emocore band now, but i hope you have heard their old material, because its pretty heavy, moving stuff.

alexisonfire? yeah, not hardcore. but close enough, and i like the overall sound they continually produce.

I don't really listen to hardcore that much, but I can tell that most of you don't have any idea what it is. AFI never was hardcore under any circumstances. I would say: Throwdown, Underoath, At the Gates, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Norma Jean, and Shai Halud are all good examples of real hardcore.

nehemiah, throwdown, too pure to die, bury your dead, everytime i die, darkest hour, terror, the dead romance, martyr ad, with dead hands rising, sinai beach, bleeding through, coma eternal, agnostic front, unearth, the black dahlia murder, dillenger escape plan, theres alot more these are mostly metal bands but also some hardcore ones

how is ETID not metalcore? they are really good metal core, but they are most definitely metalcore. other great metalcore bands are Unearth, on broken wings, converge, and prayer for cleansing. metal core is really just a subgenre of hardcore... emo core is not though. it doesn't have the right guitars to be concidered hardcore... bands like hopesfall, shai hulud, grade.... those are emo core.

I think from now on any band that has 2 guitars, a guy screaming for the entire song or at least 9/10 of it, and a breakdown, should be called hardcore.
