I like the one where Homer gets sent to some island to be a missionary but all he does is corrupt the natives by building a casino and making beer. then he gets high from licking toxic toads... hahahah, that one was great.

Family guy was funny, but did not compare to the Simpsons. It is possible that this is because there were more laughs produced by the simpsons because they've been running for so long, and I am a little biased, but to me nothing will ever beat the simpsons.

After girls, simpsons is the most valuable part of my life.

 
ya.. there were a few differences..

1. simpsons works on so many levels, the more u think about a joke, the funnier it is.

2. the simpsons writers are very smart [not to say that family guy's weren't] and because they are so good, they have a show that every demographic finds funny; kids, teens, adults.

3. simpsons jokes are often very very smart, and this relates to the above points. they build on other episodes, and the more u watch, the more u laugh.

4. family guy has a lot of 'cheap laughs' - this type of humour doesn't often have high replay value. due to the intricacy of the simpsons jokes, u can see the same episode numerous times and find new things funny.

i might not actually have any idea what i'm talkion about here, but it sounds right?!.. soo, yes.

 
I agree. You can see the same episode like three times in a week, and still laugh.... at both old jokes that you know are coming, plus the subtle ones that you didn't really catch the first two times.

 
It really is impossible to have a favorite simpsons episode, but one that really sicks (mentioned already) is the one where homer thinks bart is gay. When he takes him to the steelmill, i still fall off of the couch laughing. 'We work hard, we play hard (enter music). hahaha i love it all.

 
Have you ever watched Family Guy??????

You may think that It uses only dumb jokes but it uses both smart and obvious humor. There are sooooo many hidden jokes that you will laugh for the whole show. Sometimes you don't see the other jokes because you're laughing too hard. The simpsons have become predictable and repetative although the show is definitely funny. But The family guy is funny because of it's unpredictability and the way it makes fun of other shows and actors. I'm just trying to say that the family guy has such good jokes that it gets funnyer every time you watch it (I can't say the same for the simpsons).

uhhhh, i'm the biggest fan of family guy.. i've got every single episode on cd, and have watched them all at least 10 times each, but there's no way it's better than the simpsons. the simpsons have been around for over 10 years, and have proven that they're the best cartoon ever. there's no way that in one and a half seasons family guy can beat the simpsons.

 
The only thing with the Simpsons is that it used to be a Social Satire cartoon, but now it seems to be straying away from that a little bit. It's still funny as hell though.

The family guy still had it's moments though...like when Stewie was put down in front of the T.V and had to watch a little bit of the Teletubbies..oh shit that was funny, i'am lauging just thinking about it!

I'm not denying that their both good shows but the simpsons isn't that much better than the family guy. I mean it's hard to stay fresh and unpredictable all the time when you've been on the air for so long.

Look at Homers left ear and it spells the initials M.G. out of his haire line and ear. That is Matt Groening(sp?) I just thought that was pretty cool

 
Which is part of the reason why simpsons is so great. No other show has stayed AS fresh and unpredictable (and damn funny) as the simpsons has in such a long time of airing.

simpsons is still as satirical as ever. every episode has numerous references the stupidness of USA!
