So we all know that these skis rip and tear in pow, bc and big mountain but how do they all fair in the park???

the contenders:

Line Motherships

K2 Seth's

Salomon Guns

Armada ARV

Armada JP vs. Julian

4frnt MSP

4frnt VCT

Maybe you guys could order them best to least best in your opinions?? or share some experiences?

I realize these skis have all been discussed over and over but i was wondering how the stack up againt each other only in the park.

I love the ARVs I have been riding in the park the last two weeks, they are soft and pretty fat. I used to ski seths and they were fun to go big on. Sean, you mount those at +10, wow, I went +3 on those aRVS and felt a pretty big difference, what do those ski like all-mountain?

they skiied like shit all-mountain.

i had another pair of seth vicious at +4 for everything, and a pair of 1st gen pistols at +7.5 for park.

next time i'm going +10

is +4 solid? i found it to be cool, everyone told me that I was dumb and i wouldn't be able to turn on the steeps, ripped Bigsky tram first day and they were pretty solid, people need to get over the foreward mounting sucks mindset, makes spinning much easier.

+4 is good, but if i had 179s again i would go +3 for all-mountain. +4 on 189s.

keep in mind i'm talking k2 here. i believe armadas recomended spot is already further forward.

just do it in the cm back from center method.

since center on l2s is +12, +3 is 9cm back from center.

so for all mountain i would go 8 or 9cm back from center.

The armada is pretty far foreward, and sick for all mountain. Anyway, Fat skis maje switch landings so much easier.

i dont know about the 4frnt because i have never riden them, but the rest can all be skied in the park fine because they are light so they wont have alot of swing wieght, even the Jp's, but they are a a little long,

i have madens 179 and use them in park, i especially like them on soft slushy days, and overall its more gnar gnar in my opnion

might as well let you guys know my deal. i live in ontario right now and picked up some dave crichton pro's because i pretty much just ride park here. decided i'm gonna move out to calgary in mid summer for work and i need a big mountain slayer, but since i'm a park rat at heart i want something i can rip steaps with but still cut through the park on the way back to the chair.

i'd say mount them at the core center arrow. that's where mine are mounted and they're the shit. i mounted my made'ns the same way and they rock as well.

he was asking about a ski that does well all mountain AND in the park. +4 is it.

my pistols at core center skiied like shit anywhere but the park.

I love my mo-ships They rip, I never realy use them on rails cause im not very good at them but I love them in the air, They float so good and are perfect for spinning. BTW I have the 182's.

The Guns (this years, as in purple and orange) are sick skis in the park. The wider landing platform (this is the case on all these skis) gives a little more stability when landing, and thus more of a chance for you to stomp the shit out of your trick. The ti layer on the guns gives a little more stability, and gives pop. The swing weight is more than a dedicated park ski, but you get used to it. I would really like to try some Elizabeths in the park though.

the fatter the ski, the more airtime you have. so if you get prophets youll be soaring like the olympic jumper dudes. its a fact of life

haha, i live in ontario too and have a pair of crichtons!

im planning on a trip out west next year and was looking at some fatties... luckily and hopefully, im getting some scratch BC's for free. wohoo

i had original pistols at like +8, sooo much fun and super stable until they snapped. I got my madens at +6, killin all mtn and fatty kickers

I have my vicious mounted at like + 2 or 3. For park I would have liked them a little farther forward, I think it, as well as many other factors mind you, contributes to my lack of progression, so i think im going to need some other skis for park.

Landing tricks isn't impossible with a non-center stance, I haven't really gotten much more tech since mounting foreward, maybe better grabs but can't say i notice the change everyday.

For this season I remounted my PEs at true center and it is sooo much better on rails, particularly spinning on rails. Part of it might just be mental but either way, it helped.

well ive never ridden any of them but i think probably

Line Motherships

armada arv

msp

k2 seths

Armada JP vs. Julian

4frnt VCT

dude im gonna have to go with the new moships in the park ive skied the ARvs and pistols they were wayy sick but the motherships are just sooo solid and sooo responsive and the motherships kill it on rails

MoShips explode, great ski, especially flite but they won't last a season if you ski the park hard.

i heard they wern't going to be making mo-ships for `07??? Anyone know for sure??

If they dont they are going to have to replace it with something. Elizebeths and Sir Francis Bacon are about about 115-110 center width and the Chonics are around 80-85.. so that kind of leaves a big gap in their line up. I guess there are those new Anthems (93 width) but i was under the impression they were just super fat jibbers?

Anyone know what the dill is???

the prophets are line's answer to motherships, i think there are now four sizes 80 90 100 130.

i thought prophers were more of a freeride ski as opposed to freestyle. i guess i didn't specify.

but, i was just reading that thread on line skis now and checked jibij and it look like they are going to make a chronic with a 90 width waist so i guess that might take over from the motherships

they arent making motherships for 06-07. The chronics are 80 waist and the chronic blends are 90, also the new prophet 90 (replacing moship) shares the 90 mm underfoot platform. Then from there, the Anthem (a fatter invader) with a 93 mm underfoot, 100 mm underfoot for the prophet 100, 110 mm underfoot for the lizze and i think the bacon is the same ( not sure), then the 130 mm underfoot on the prophet 130.
