Imagine if your dad wasn't alive (not assuming you have one or not, if you do not I'm sorry). Imagine growing up with your older brother selling drugs as means of trying to get you some food. Imagine growing up with your mom beating the fuck out of you for no reason. Imagine growing up with your older brothers and friends in a gang. Imagine growing up hearing people getting shot and dying every night while you are trying to get some damn sleep. Imagine growing up and realizing that your only way to make money is to sell drugs or else you will get either shot or beaten the fuck up by your gang.

Don't give me this "they should get over it" bullshit because most black kids' lives are 10 times tougher than most other people, and don't give me any specific situation shit either, im talking general here. Don't judge a person until you understand or at least try to understand their experiences as hard as you can.

Maybe if we allowed black people to live normal lives, blacks wouldn't be so pissed at us whites.
 
selling drugs, makin' all that tax free money, that's the life. Then you can go and get food stamps, paid for by tax money, from people who probably buy drugs with their pre taxed money. Seems like old whitey's on the wrong side of the fence on this one. But with all you extra cash from slingin crack rocks at the circle k you can get some dope shoes, and impress your gang. At the same time if mommy's got a pinch of ambition, she'll be collecting government funds for the kids, most of this probably goes to alcohol, (which thank god is taxed). My uncle died when my cousins were like 4 and 2, life's not fair, it's sad but it's true. 
 
Yeah, but when you get shot because someone decides they don't want to pay for their crack one time then what? Always being in dangerous situations like that is the life for sure man.

And about your uncle, I bet your younger cousins still grew up in a nice house and never had to worry about getting food, the honest thing is that NO ONE on this site has any idea what it is like to actually be really poor, and to have absolutely nothing.

Is that why I won't vote for McCain, no, because what do you know Hagee isn't John McCain! Just because a candidate has someone's support doesn't mean they think everything they do. McCain and Obama have both said it themselves. It looks like some of you have been caught up full swing in the media spin, which is easy to be sucked into.

The violence just comes with the territory, obviously it's dangerous, an aligator wrestlers job is dangerous. If they don't want to sling rocks go join job core and get some vocational training. There's oppertunity out there, just because someone would rather sell drugs and chill with their homies on the block doesn't mean there arn't other options. Minimum wage is like $7 an hour, that's enough to rent a place and feed yourself, want more? get a better job.
 
What if you're a drug dealer? What if you're shitting all over the life of that single parent trying to provide for a family, but they're hooked on crack. Obviously the government does not know who all the drug dealers and leaders of organized crime are.(and they wouldn't just be taxed if they were known) But to make the generalization that everyone deserves all the money that falls in their laps is ignorant.
 
I think he was talking about legitimate jobs, obviously being an underground crime lord is "bad." To even consider he was grouping in people who do back alley abortions with an m80 on a coathanger is ignorant.

The more honest thing is probably that you don't know what it's like to work hard and support yourself. If I'm wrong and you're making money hand over fist you might be exploiting someone.

What if you were that girl and you worked your absolute ass off and got a 4.0? Now say there was an african american who got into the school through affirmative action. The kid himself is a hard worker but not only is he genetically slightly dumber than you, but also came from a ghetto and had worse education, would you still give a whole point of your gpa to him? Cuz under both Hillary and Obama the new proposed tax percentage for people who earn a combined household income of $102k a year or more is 39.5% (up from 33%).

only black people sell crack, earlier in the thread I even made an attempt to sway the conversation away from race. However earning an untaxed income working

your own hours seems a lot easyer than working 40 hours a week at

minimum wage. Once again you just regurgitate old points in the thread

and back out because you can't think critically enough to type out your

own opinon, or maybe you don't even have an opinion.
 
My point would be that perhaps these people didnt choose to deal crack, maybe they didnt get a choice, but given the choice between starving to death or selling crack, i think id choose crack. So saying its "easy" is probably pretty easy to say, when you aren't in their situation. Im not saying that i have been, were both on a skiing site here lets not pretend either one of us is too poor.

there are choices for everyone, if you can sell crack you can wash dishes. I've been unemployed and hungry before, it doesn't mean that it becomes an acceptable excuse for illegal behavior. No one has to choose between starving to death and selling crack. there are food stamps, and soup kitchens in every major city. This thread was based on the topic of the redistribution of wealth, we already have so many government programs in place, the problem is that people are too lazy to use them, or they are low enough to take advantage of the system.

 
In gangs, selling crack can mean life or death. They don't care if you can make money any other way, they just want you to do whatever they tell you so that in return you have some protection in the streets. No government programs can prevent that except for more police in the areas that need them which ISN'T happening. You know that the police officers that graduate police training with the best grades get put into areas with the least crime, where we don't need them.
 
i agree that some people take advantage of the system, and i agree that selling crack is wrong, but i still think for some its the only choice. regardless my point was more the implication that black people are the only ones selling crack and fucking the white guys
 
Listen I'm all for doing what you need to do to survive, I don't have anything against drug dealers, but don't expect me to be happy picking up the tab. Lets move past the whole "they gotta sell crack to live" argument and just agree to say, "Fuck the people that are on unemployment and welfare for more than a couple of months." It's meant to be a helping hand when times get tough, like losing your job, or getting injured, it's not supposed to be a crutch for the rest of your life.

 
Yeah but at the same time a lot of people are saying we shouldn't be paying into welfare through taxes because of them. Does it suck that some people are taking advantage of us? yeah. but at the same time we cant fuck over the people that really do need it

I know people who work 2 or even 3 jobs at times just to support their families, and they didn't bring this upon themselves for being "lazy" and partying, its actually the rich people who party while they bust their ass to make ends meet.

i dont know about you, but every successful person i know has worked HARD for what they have.

sure it happens, but contrary to popular belief most CEO's dont have the job because of Daddy, they worked their ass off getting there.
 
yeah, but alot of people work HARDER and don't get anywhere near the top, simply becuase they do not have the oppurtunity to.

income redistribution is not going to make CEO's equal to average Joe. its just going to level out the field a little bit. and i dont see anything wrong with that.

single mom, immigrant from Portugal (that's the 3 job one) DEFINITLY not lazy, she fucking works 70+ hours a week AND cooks and cleans for her kids.

 
yeah your right, you know what, i work way way harder than my own father, i work outside busting my ass cleaning bathrooms, digging ditches, mowing grass, i work maintenance at a park, while why do i get payed less than my dad? i work more hours than he does (in the summer when i am not in school) i work a more phisicaly demanding job than he does. so why do i make 1/20th of what he does?

he has more education, works a job where he holds the lifes of 80 people in his hands....(he is a commercial pilot)

want to know a cool little fact, my grandpa grew up in literal poverty, he remembers the day they got electricity, he didnt have his own bed until his family left him for 6 months and he was alone on their farm, (at the age of 18) he can tell you when they stopped harvesting corn by hand..

want to know a cool little fact about this story, my grandpa's salery makes my dads, look like tidily winks

now this is my MOM'S father, you want to know why he made/ makes more than my dad, he works harder, and has no college education, he started with NOTHING!

one more quick little fact, my grandpa is still to young to qualify for social security, so its not like he is 90..

life is a series of choices, what choices are you going to make?
