So I've been reading alot about this disaster, its said to be the worst natural disaster in a century, and it will be a month before the water is pumped out, and by then will there be any will to restore the city? My best wishes go out to the people of new Orleans who may never see there homes again

ya, well do you remember how much we tried to help out those people after the tsunami? We sent millions if not billions of dollars worth of food and supplies, and you know where 85% of it ended up??? IN PORTS because their rediculous government wouldnt let it be sent to people in need...Don't tell me we werent supportive of them when they had a natural disaster.

it could've been alot worse, just imagine if a storm of the same strength had hit some part of indonesia or any other area of south eastern asia with a highly concentrated population. with all the resources that the US has, they probably minimized the casualties.

it's too bad though, the city most likely wont ever be the same, it's always been a place that i've really wanted to visit

listen. the morons who weren't smart enough to heed the warnings to completely evacuate the city days in advance got what was coming. a freaking hurricane. and if they couldn't for some reason evacuate the city, then for God's sake they could have at least gone to the superdome and chilled for the entirety of the hurricane, as was the order given.

the way i, and many others see it is that one of those two steps were necessary for survival. if you can't respond to one of these two options, then obviously, death is imminent, and you're the one responsible.

i'm not being disrespectful. i feel horrible for all the families who lost all their possessions and those around them, the businesses which have been completely lost, and for the city that has essentially sunk. but for those individuals who didn't adhere to the advice given, which was to run for the hills, then well, i don't feel all that sympathetic, because they must have had a deathwish anyways.

and as far as the urban wakeboarding, thats what has crossed my mind every time i see images of the city under water.

and to those condemning us who point it out- if there was a total blizzard that as a result killed many people, but opened up a world of opportunities for new urban jibs and lasted for months and months... at some point wouldn't you take advantage of it? realistically, it's not like anyone would wakeboard there anyways, because it's totally unsanitary, and would be detrimental to the wakeboarder's health for sure. but don't get mad at us for having fantasies.

there has been no water or power in iraq for months.

There are like 5 million iraqis homeless, with their houses turned to rubble.

Once apon a time there was a piece of land UNDER WATER surrounded by the ocean a river and a huge fucking lake! A genius got the idea to build a wall between the lake the river and the ocean and then to pump out the water so the land would be land and not under water. So once the water was gone they got the brilliant idea to build stuff, like buildings, homes, superdomes, and golfcourses. Well it was only a matter of time before the walls would break from a disaster.

The way I look at it is that the founders of the city are fucking morons for thinking that it would work forever! I do feel bad for the founders children that had to sufer their great grandpas stupid ass Ideas!

The point is DONT BUILD YOUR HOMES IN A PLACE YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE WATER OUT OF INORDER TO MAKE IT LIVEABLE.

even though this is impossible, i am being totally serious when i say they should chop New Orleans off into the ocean and bild a new New Orleans where the US stops to have control of the missisippi and such. That would be the 49 states, but soon we'll have Irac so it wil be an even number again.
