Fat skis getting waaayy to out of hand

ur not the first or the 30th to post about this

my argument everytime is this, Do you have a park ski?Yes. its a special thing for the park, a specific tool, the fat skis are specific tools for powder, so shut up.

Actually you can ski park and slopes pretty well witha park ski, but you can't ski slopes or park acceptably with a fat. So fats are more specific. But I don't think theyre out of hand, if you ski powder a lot, theyre a good choice

does the lizzy rip in the park?does the allota rip all around? i think u see my point

the arg and the ponttoon are both only pow skis casue the revers camber and the eliptical side cuts but the lizzy and alotta are both great skis on grooms and lizzys are good in park

Yes i kn ow fat skis are for powder and arespecific for powder i just think those are a little toooooooo big for my liking, but thats just my opinion

have you tried a 140 mm underboot in 1 meter deep dry powder? I havn't but I'm sure that must be something incredible.

Traditional shaped skis over 120mm are pointless. However, powder skis with reverse sidecut/camber/etc have their purpose. I think a more appropriate title for this thread would be "In my opinion, specialized skis are getting out of hand," and if you had done that you would have realized that this thread and the countless others exactly like it are kind of pointless.

i knoooowww^^ i just think there to fat yes they do make skiing powder a whole lot easier. but i think there a bit to fat

Look here is my opinion....skis are fucking skis. All twins do the same shit. I bought some prophet 130s and im going to be using them in the park, and the pipe. I have some Armada Ar5s and ive used them in the pow. Stop your bitching and use whatever you want, wherever you want.

well i love it where shane goes with his waterskis in powder!!! That looked sooo awesome. So yeah i can imagine why ppl buy that stuff. For me personally im happy with my scratch bc perfect in pow and freestyle both in park and pow

WWWWWEEEEE KKKKNNNNOOOOOWWWWW TTTTTTHHHHHAAAATTTT YYYYOOUUUUUUUUUUU KKKKNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOWWWWW TTHHHHHHATTTT. you think there too fat even though they help?

why the fuck not have snowboards on your feet?

or as i call em, wide ass skis!

you ride em sideways with leather boots on.

and theyre rad for cutbacks and front 2sev lips!

Dude, he's from ontario. Unless he spends the winter somewhere else, the credibility of his opinion on powder skis (or anything but park skis, for that matter) is weak at best.

No offense or anything, but unless you have ridden skis like that in deep snow repeatedly you really can't pass judgement on whether or not they work. I really doubt all the ski companies would be making huge skis if they were as pointless as the thread creator seems to think they are. But that's just my opinion, maybe you really can judge a ski just by looking at it on the internet.

i think it would be ridiculous if i ever saw someone with them whose not a pro. no one skis that much pow to need such a fat ski unless ther name is seth, shane, or they like work at a heli skiing place. the fattest ski ive seen someone on was a line prophet in whistler, but if your in whistler, its different

We usually get at least one or two days a year where it snows 3-4' overnight, but you're saying that people can't use powder specific skis on it unless they're a pro? I don't get your logic, unless you're trying to tell me that only pro skiers ride powder. In which case, I am still baffled by your reasoning.

And that would be exactly why it's a powder specific ski. A lot of people have more than one pair of skis so they can have something that's really good in a couple conditions instead of mediocre at everything.

That because you live in fucking NEW JERSEY. Go west to a real mountain where there are tons of real pow days and you will see.

I think that for park specific ski its what ever your preference, in my opinion i think that i would only go with Line Anthems cause i think that 93 underfoot is the limit. However i haven't skied anthing fatter and it might change my mind. Look at Andy Mare, he shreds park on Madden AK's and i beileve that they are over 100 underfoot. Also the interview with Jay the founder of Line, they asked what is it like to hit rails on profets with 120 underfoot, his reply, like grindin a picnic box. So its what ever you feel comfortable with. In my final opinion i think no one should go fatter than the fatty-puss a lotta for pow but i wouldn't know anything about that cause i ski in ontario so i am prob wrong......... or maybe right. SKI whatever u feel comfortable on.

Oh Ya ski watever your terain suits u with. I ski in Ontario or OnTerrible as we call it. I ride AR6's and i fukin love them and think they are perfect for what i do.

well unless you tried any of those big bastards, you have No right to say they have gone out of hand.

if hey ski just a tad bettertehn something skiiniier in thight deep powder, then they desreve to exist.

ok ok sorry for all the hatin, i just saw them and thats what i thougt, and ill make sure if i do get the chance to try some deep pow ( i pray i will) ill be sure to use some vig fat skis like those.

All I can say is;  ONCE YOU GO FAT, YOU DON'T GO BACK!

...seriously, IMO, it's the skis that are smaller than 85 underfoot that are out of hand haha

I rock my 189 Made'ns in the park. I can still do switch ups and 270s and such. I can't really 450 anything, but I couldn't even if I was on T-Halls or fujatives or something. I find them really fun in the park.

are these those icelandic skis or w/e the AT skis that are supper fat but really short, my only question whith this is where do you get a skin tht big

If you think it's getting out of hand, then don't use them, problem solved.

Everyone who likes them is going to have a great old time on them regardless of your opinion.

Unless you have invested in the company or something, then why the hell would you care? If people want to ski around on two barn doors, does it really change your ski experience in the least?

fat in the park= bad idea. they snapped. my friend snapped 2 skis...bought pimps...I give him...until we have snow and 2 weeks after the 1st jump is built...yes he lives on the east coast
