I would deffinitly just rent if your only planin on going for a week, but if you got the money, go for something like the seth pistol or pocket rocket, there more well rounded they a true pow board like the Ak rocket or B3/Bandit XXX. but if you got the cash, get a quiver going, pow skis only get brought out for a couple days a year here on the east coast, so they will last for years apon years.

I ride pocket rockets in pow, groomers, park, pipe etc... and they work fine everywhere. They can be a little 'soft' but i'm 140lbs and ridin 185 PRs so it really doesnt bother me

ya if you're going for a week just rent or even demo while you're out there, that would be cheaper

yea, most ski areas out west have a retal fleet of pocket rockets or bandit xxx/b3's. you wont have a hard time finding 85+mm underfoot boards out west for renting.

If you're going to whistler, I suggest you stop by Glacier Shop with a 12 of Heineken and a credit card, and ask them if they can help you out with getting some demo fats for the week. You never know, crazier things have happened..
