Fat skiers

Just read this article and this paragraph made me laugh a bit, like thank god northface make triple XL now, not like anybody was doing that for years.

Anyone on here fat and have trouble finding gear?

One of my buddies I ski with now is a college football offensive lineman and probably 6'2 275 and shreds. I think it's so funny when you see a bigger person who shreds. It's a lot of mass mov9ng very quickly. His biggest complaint is finding big enough boots over his calfs and lower leg.

Every resort has the oversized local who rips. here’s my buddy nash

Being overweight dramatically increases the stress on your knees from just standing/waking around. I can only imagine how much more that would hurt if you were skiing...

Also s/o Tom for getting North Face to make XXL+ gear

Being big is a struggle tho like im 6'3 230 ish and finding baggy shit at thrift stores is hard cuz it has to be like 4xl to be rlly baggy

Companies will do this but then they’ll complain that their gear cost more.

but I’m all here for 4XL again bring back baggy jackets

I'm fat as fuck but at least I understand that if I actually got days in this season i wouldn't be.. complaining to a company that their clothes are too tight is hilarious when the solution is to just ski more.

Park crew when they realize where the bomb holes been coming from

Bro stop being retarded

Fucking stupid article. Fat ski apparel exists. Worst case get a snowmobile suit. Fat fucks ride those all the time. Love for all my fat skiers out there, but don't complain just because spyder doesn't make your xxxxxxl size clothing lmao. When will this acceptance of an unhealthy society end?! Be fat, don't be fat, idc, but don't promote it like it's something to be accepted. This article does just that by providing justification to their arguments. Jesus. Yeah I'm triggered.

I'm surprised this is the first time I've ever seen this issue referencing boots on here. I also have this issue because unlike most chicken leg skiers(aka upper body divas like [tag=266842]@yungona[/tag]), I don't skip leg day. The boot cuff sits right in the center of the meatiest part of my calf so it spills out like a muffin top. Seated calf raise is awesome, until you realize boots are made for scrawny fuckers.

I never understood how people can actually fit park gear… or find it too tight fitting. Your fat? Buy park outwear!

Waist size is the issue. All the massive baggy shit is great, but has the waist size of a 14-year old.

Problem with being heavy is when you fall, you're way more likely to get serious injuries from it. Everyone I skied with that was in the heavy set mould has come unstuck at some point. One lad landed off balance from a medium kicker = knee surgery for ACL. One lad fell unspectacularly in off piste and dislocated a shoulder. Another took a beating on piste for sure at speed though, and ended up with 2 broken vertebrae in his mid spine.... All these chaps were towards the 225 pounds weight end of it, two of them were mostly in shape and just are big built, the other was carrying a bit too much gristle... Same end result, damage, because of all that inertia going into the tumble. My guess is there would've been less damage in all cases if they weighed less and were in good shape.

Ya know what’s even worse? Wide feet, 104mm boots are few and far between

Technicas are the only boots that really fit me without blowing them out. I just barely able to fit my feet in the HV 120s. My feet without a boot are a 110 width and in the boot, a couple of my toes dig their nails into other toes. My feet dont look good after but surprisingly, no pain while skiing.

Do you get swollen spots a little down and to the left of your pinky toe?
