Fastest you’ve ever destroyed skis?

Just set a new personal record, 6 days??. Bases cracked in multiple spots, core cracked, topsheet delam, sidewall blown out underfoot, and more edge cracks than you can shake a stick at. :)

Anyone remember the surface doubletimes? probably broke like 3 pairs within a few month span. Great customer service at the time though.

Snapped a pair i was demo-ing like 5 runs in. hit a surprise cat track going fast as fuck and exploded but didn't notice the ski was snapped until i returned them an hour later... i was too busy making sure a body part hadn't snapped

it was super awkward in the room and kind of only got worse when i pointed out that i had paid for the insurance for like $5. so i was off the hook but i felt bad because what the hell does a $5 insurance charge do to help them? brutal lol

What skis dude you gotta tell us

Had a pair of Rossi scratches a few years ago that went from brand new to missing all 4 edges under foot along with chunks of base all the way to the core with in a few weeks of owning them. tbf I was hitting hand rails with them toward the end so I guess I can't fault them too much but I sure won't be buying another pair.

When the Prodigy 3.0 got a redesign in 2017(?), I got a sample pair for spring skiing. Snow was good, I wasn't doing anything that crazy but I put a foot long core shot down the base of one ski. It was 4 welds wide and legit a foot long and I didn't feel it happen, I fixed it and gave it back to our rep and he didn't even seem surprised. Last Factions I've been on, that repair was an hour of my life that I'll never get back.

I broke the tip on my first pair of touring skis my first day using them, on like the third turn of my first run. Went over the bars, caught a tip in mud under the snow and broke the ski. Still used them for the rest of the year with one floppy tip. Wasn't great.

Also managed to put a 9 inch core shot in my brand new Deathwish before I'd ever even made a turn. Went to straight line a chute from the parking lot, found a rock before I even did my shutdown turn. Filled it and they are fine a year later.

stories like this are why I try my best to not get too sendy early season

A few seasons back I was riding some ON3P Kartel 96’s brand new that I bought on NS and I rode them for a couple days (hardpack only, no park) and outta nowhere the whole ski delammed and I ate shit. After further inspection I realized I was actually riding 2015 Faction Candide 1.0’s (the white ones) with very poorly painted on Kartel graphics. This made me super pissed so I msged the guy who scammed me and found out through IP tracking that it was actually Will Berman. When I asked him why he did it, he told me Faction sent him the wrong skis he actually wanted 2.0’s because “anyone who rides 90 waist width is a fucking pussy.”

My work has the $5 insurance, already had multiple broken snowboard demos and i just think how it covers it too, not sure how our insurance system with that shit works though.

Also probably my arv 96s last year, i did give em about 40-50 hard park days but by the end of January the sidewall was blowing up and had many edge cracks. So far this year's pair is better, but also have maybe 20 park days, due to powder.

Lmao same thing happened with my punx 5s but they warrantied them because of the tip delam. That was after like 30 days of skiing tho. Just copped some Moment Frankenskis should be fun af.

Got a new pair of skis this season, only been skiing them since december. Maybe 10 days total. Snapped them at bbowl yesterday when i fucked up a 360. not sure how because i literally only went 12 inches in the air, but i'm hoping they get warrantied.

i dont even have a cool story to tell boys, i ate shit under the lift and everyone laughed at me. that's the truth right there

Woodchipper usually does the trick. But really my skis held up decently. I broke 2 snowboard in a week once though. They were capitas. Broke 1 in 2 runs, and the replacement in less then a week. 3rd board i got 3 or 4 seasons out of.

Like 6 days for some line SFBs. There’s 2 rails at the bottom of my mountain. So it’s all mtn jibbing, then hit the 2 rails then ride back up. Totally blew apart my sidewall, base, edge, top sheet. Epoxied it back together and well see how long she lasts

That's the most fucked up thing I've ever heard.

4,5 hours from buying ski/mounting binding, thoose hours included a lunch. Apparantly skis doesnt like to be skied high speed somewhat sideways to bleed speed while hitting rocks. Awesome day though except the frontflip upon landing not seeing the small 9 feet drop.

I bought a pair of the Joystick "These" skis a while back and ripped the heel binding out 3 times within the first month of owning them. Luckily the local shop was cool enough to keep attempting to mount them after the 3rd time. Don't really recall how much longer I rode them after they were remounted but it couldnt have been long. They look cool hanging on the wall now at least.

im not a crazy good skier by any means. i have a pair of j skis whipits that i finally lost an edge on after 3 seasons. granted i did crack one of the edges within the first few weeks. but that’s it.

and you bought the candides for tree fitty and will berman turned into the lochness monste

Snapped some harvest rootdowns. Nit the skis fault tho, it was a jib ski and super flexy 4 buters. Got it on video tho, you can hear it snap

I consistently broke punx in 8 days. Side walls would collapse and then base would crack length wise. went through 5-6 rounds of warranty before I decided to switch skis. Also snapped a pair of Rossi soul 7’s in 4 hours hitting a cliff, but they weren’t brand new, just skis I was borrowing from a friend.

Yes It was about that time I realized Will Berman was actually 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the paleolithic era.

Sounds like this years Punx got issues, what you described is exactly what’s happening to mine
