i want to buy a large fat ski that rips...im thinking something that will haul ass....has to be 05 06 so far i was thinking a big vct what are you suggestions

what you're 5'8, 155 and just want a ski for straightlining big terrain, nothin else? if that's right then here's a list. (I'm only really talking big companies as idk about iggy etc)

Now of course I'm assuming you are a very very good skier. If so, any of these skis in these longest lengths will be fine just for hauling ass. I reckon B Squads or Supermojos are your bestest bet.
 
actually now i think about it, if anyone hauls ass is JNobis. he seems to enjoy doing so on Dynastar Legend Pro 194s so they could work too. although his are no doubt beefed up a tad..

how about prophet 100's! i demoed them in january and they absolutely rip!! they take anything you throw at them and super stable at high speeds. seems like what you're looking for.

i have a brand new pair in a 179 length which i can let go for a decent price. pm me if you're interested.
 
^i heard from one of the head guys that the supermojos are gonna be one of the sickest skis this year, and i dont doubt it, head is coming back. and the ants and the legends are solid too. good choices^ for sure
 
I didn't think the Supermojo was changing, I could be wrong. The Mojo 105 is new but is way softer and twin.

For what he wants 188 Titan Nines should be at the very top of the list. Even the 181 would do. Then186 Legend Pros, then 190 Explosives.

193 Supermojos would wreck the kid, as would 194 B Squads.
 
or you know you could just ignore this thread and get some Volkl Explosifs for like 150 CAD. they will blow throew anything trust me
 
in fairness, he said nothing about groomers. he said he just wanted a fat ski to haul ass, so you might assume he means in the bc? we know he is only 5'7 and 155 so you may be right in that 193/194 is too hot for him to handle. unfortunately we don't know his level. if he's hot shit then ya, titan 188, lp 186 or b squad 184/189. if he's just a good all around skier and wants to open up his turns a little then we can step down a whole level. mantras or monster IM 88s could be just the job.

until we know his level or until he specifies what he needs it for, can can but speculate...
 
You misunderstood my post. I was one of the first to post in here, with a great deal on 188cm Jp vs juliens and someone maybe 7 posts before this said jp vs juliens for some one 5'8. Then two posts later he says Ants.
 
haha, witty. probably not far from the truth for many who "ride" big skis!! maybe he wants them for somewhere else? maybe he just won the bingo and he's planning a heli trip to AK? maybe he wants them for his summer jib setup in his garden? we can but speculate until the kid pipes up again.
 
maybe he thinks that big fatties make him go fastest on the groomers. if so, he's in the wrong games and he needs to get him some race stock gs skis. he's offline, so no answer imminent
 
fuck, if he really wants it to ride in CT, he must be made of money. if he takes our advice and spends muchos $$$ on like legend pros to ski at errr.. , he will have wasted a great deal of money lol!

whoa i just read further in the thread...

chill out man! the kid will ride what he wants! maybe he goes out west alot? maybe he just thinks that big fat skis will make him happier...either way, we should rag on him for where he lives! the guy could totally rip man! he just wants to have fun like the rest of us...if he skis BC shit on his christmas break, more power to him. if he takes some kingswoods on a green circle, more power to him, hes happy.
 
You said you were looking for something to go fast with that doesn't need to turn fast, so I'm assuming you want something stiff with a big freakin' turn radius. Here's a list of what I'd pick:

183 Supermojo

184 B-Squad

186 Legend Pro

All of those skis would be completely unnecessary anywhere east of the rocky mountains and would be a waste of a good ski, but if that's what you want more power to you. I'm just warning you in advance that you will be bored out of your mind on any sort of east coast mountain with any of those skis.
 
alright so theres a few differant views floating around here....no i am not made of money im the only one that skis in my family and i pay for everything...since skiing is my number one priority i spend most of my money on it...therefore i will have oppurtunities to rip them on some sick gnar pow a few times a season...otherwise i just want one hell of a ride whenever they are on groomers...i just want a giant bad ass ski that tears it up becuase i already have my park ski
 
I think moving from Invaders to any of the skis we suggested will be so much of a change that you will have a seizure. But it will be good for you, it's healthy to get off a soft weiner ski and step on some real boards every once in a while.
