Discuss the new show fargo on FX, similarities to the movie, what you like or don't like.

Personally i think billy bob thornton does a great job playing the "killer." And cant wait to see how the series plays out.

Never saw the movie but holy fuck is this fucked up. I can tell I'm going to be locked into this series plus billy bob Thornton is awesome.

^tough to explain, this guy essentially is a pussy and then meets this mysterious guy who like activates the guys murderous side. Idk it's fucked up but amazing, they are replaying it right now on fx if you want to catch the whole thing which I highly reccomendations you do. Btw my description was horribly shitty so check out the show.

was it good?? fell asleep about 2 mins into the show....

never saw the movie but this looks awesome FX has a great track record of shows and the casting looks amazing

couchtuner.eu has it now aswell.

I'm gonna see and maybe start to follow the show.

the site is worth cheking out too, it's got aaaaaall the shows.

Is the story line much different than the movie or pretty similar? I only saw commercials and I initially didn't intend on watching it since I really enjoyed the movie and wanted to leave it at that; I'm thinking now I might just give 'er a go, just the first episode at least to see what its like.

Can you break down the movie for me because when I first heard it I kept thinking Argo and I realizes they aren't the same things.

Basically this guy's father-in-law is rich so he hires these 2 guys to kidnap his wife and take her as a hostage and ask her father for money. The husband set this up thionking he would pay the guys with some of the money and then he would keep the rest. However, everyone involved is basically an idiot and shit goes wrong. That's pretty it. Also the story follows this lady cop who is working on the case.

I strongly recommend watching the movie, it's really fucked up but it's a good movie and the acting is great.

martin freeman playing a pussy again? how original

but for real the 20 minutes i watched were okay, could go either way IMO

Get your popcorn, it's on tonight at 10:30.

Pretty sure it's at 10?

I'm actually rewatching the movie now. Holy Christ that accent is fucking annoying

"Well that's highly irregular... No, highly irregular is the time I found a human foot in a toaster oven, this is just odd"

This guy is having a tense meeting with Billy Bob's character and the guys's dimwit son barges in...

Son: "Hey Dad, you're gonna love this one! What is a karate master's favorite drink?...

Kara-Tea! haha get it? kara-TEA... TEA... because tea is a drink hahaha"

Dad: "Get the Hell Out."

this lol, seems like deep northern canada hahah

As I posted above, I currently live in Bemidji. Based on the first episode they did a pretty damn good job of picking a town in Canada to represent bemidji though. If you go just a couple miles outside of town it is nothing but barren snow covered fields. A couple scenes with the houses look a little too suburbany and too much like a nice neighborhood for Bemidji, but overall they did a pretty good job.

Oh, and the accents in the show are way better than in the movie, but a few of the actors still lay it on a little too thick. I went in thinking the accents would be horrible, but overall its pretty damn good.

Haven't seen the 2nd episode yet but it looks like this is gonna be a badass show.

There are a lot of new characters introduced in the second episode so definitely watch it before next Tuesday.

I may have spoke too soon....

But otherwise, this show is fuckin awesome. New favorite show on tv

Anyone else notice the giant throwback to the film with the picture of the red snowscraper on Stavro's wall?

Wonder if that has anything to do with Stravo saying that it would be impossible for anyone to know about the money...

Really makes you wonder if the bemidji chief is in on it.

i have a feeling that he is just a dumbass, considering the dead chief was going to pass his job down to the female deputy when he retired instead of the guy who is chief now.

I was feeling down yesterday. But after hearing Billy Bob Thorton say "oof-da" I was more than satisfied.

Anyone still keeping up with the show? It's getting pretty saucy up in here. Billy Bob, idk how he gets away with all this shit but he is one sly motherfucker.
