Famous Finnish Ball Tree is no more

It's a sad day. One of the most famous trees in Finland just lost its famous ball at its top.

The rest of the tree will probably become depressed and unroot itself within the week.

Glory days:

Rest In Peace, Ball of Tree.

I know, it's been there for as long as I can remember, I've driven past it hundreds and hundreds of times, it was a definite waypoint and an eyecatcher.

Probably all over Finland, being the biggest ball in the whole country, you know how tricky trees can get.

But yeah, 2,5 meters (~8 ft) in diameter.

Looks like some engineers and forestry experts from Lahti are already visioning somehow implanting or attaching the ball back onto the tree! That would be epic.
