Really, we went through the depression and now we're doing okay. It's just a cycle, the economy goes up and down, thats just the way it is. I agree that we will decline in power, but we will never fall.

the US has the potential to be flexible enough to be a country that won't fall for a very, very long time. with the current state of things that cirtanly isn't the case though. If we keep doing the same things we have been doing in the same fashion then the us will definatly fall sometime in the future (more-likley the far future) if we change our ways and become 'better' we can last longer than that.

haha, this may sound like bullshit, but i think china is the next superpower. They suck right now beacuse they have 1.5 billion people and they all farm. Unfortunatley they are going through thier industrial revolution, and thier leaders are all war hungry bastards. i bet they could easily produce 10 million soldiers out of thier population once the industrial revolution is finished, and the rate at which they will be able to produce weapons will be intense. They could also just fuck the revolution up and go back to farming, which they probably will.

as much as i hate to say this, the US isn't going to fall anytime soon (as long as bush isn't re-elected). HOWEVER, at this point i would think that at least 1/4 or 1/3 of the countries in the world could buy out the US or take over, especially because of the whole Bush administration thing. I'm not saying that this will happen, cause it probably won't, but I'm saying that it is possible.

Well if you relate the world to pi, 3.14 blah blabh, you'll realize that everything is related to it and everything has a patern and that the us will eventually will fall to Rome and mankind will follow the same cycle which may be a billion years old or 5 years old. I just made all of this up and have no idea what I'm talking about, although I did just watch a movie about pi where a guy goes crazy trying to find the pattern in pi, I will now end this off with saying a funny word.

Dude, i can name you 5 countries in central and south america alone that the US has changed its government to a more pro-american government or prevented an anti-american uprising. well than we should dissolve the UN as well? They contol other countries...I actually forsee the UN being dissolved, ideally the united states would undergo massive changes perhaps no more state governments. We will see a golobal governement, not just an alliance or united group, but one that is the actual be-all-end-all final word. The countries will be renamed regions and the government will function much like the current United States...except the world itself will be one nation...imagine it...the groundwork has already begun to be layed.

so in a way yes, I suppose the united states will 'fall' but of our own will...

Wait, Orson Scott Card! Shit, if you are into this stuff you have to read all of his books! they are incredible and the way he writes is kinda science-fiction but he puts you in the position of the main characters and it's pretty crazy, I only read two of them though so I gotta buy some more...

i read enders game, pretty sick books... i dont remember it that closely but i dont remember feeling in the least bit startled at its truthfulness or anything... how exactly are the books good examples of the future of humanity? all i remember is a kid plays games that are really fighting off aliens or some shit.

Yes i have read all the enders series books, and i guess its not really in the books about Ender. Its more in the books about Bean, Enders Shadow, Shadow of the Hedgemon and Shadow Puppets.

Which are all in the Ender's series. He had like 4 series and one of them included like 15 books or something, I think The Abyss, I forget...

But I have meditations on Middle Earth and I haven't read it yet but it looks really cool and my teacher told me that the essay that got me suspended was just like the book so it sounds cool

The Enders Books and the Shadow books are in the same series, but they're parallel. Enders books are about Ender, Shadow books are about Bean, who is a character from Ender's Game.
