Fakie v Switch

fakie would be different on skis if you were moving backwards but looking forward in a forward stance and did said trick as if you were moving backwards

Let's think about riding a skateboard.

You're skating your natural stance.. if you go up on the board and use your nose to pop it's a nollie. If you skate your unnatural stance its switch. If you're skating your unnatural stance and you use your nose to pop its fakie. If you transfer that to skis it's pretty easy to think about

Anything switch isnt considered fakie until you use your nose to pop but yeah skiing is weird. Unlike skating(mostly), I've seen people use different lingo for x and y tricks so I don't even bother when someone calls it different than me. Who cares. Fuck a 3, I'm doing helicopters!!

YOU ARE ALL WRONG

the only proper way to call it is "the switch." It's not a switch 720 or a fakie 720, you do "the switch" into a 720

Skiing is so fucking stupid. Unnatural should be switch and going backwards should be fakie

WINNER WINNER! you sir are more intelligent than 90% of the moronic skier kids on here.

The term switch for backwards is so wrong it hurts me inside. Not to mention how stupid 95% of people who ski backwards look. I saw a gang you younger skiers skiing "Fakie" at my hill the other day and it killed me a little inside. It just looked so fucking dumb. It made me recall back to when I used to judge USASA events and the fellow snowboard judges would always laugh when a skier would announce that we was dropping backwards. they'd make a little joke about it and call it "dropping in backwards" brown eye first.

Boardsports have frontside and Backside to define spin direction.

skiing, rollerblading, biking, scootering, and any other forward based activity should have regular (Which 99% of the time will not even need to be referred to as regular) and Switch (aka unnatural, aka rightside, aka hardway, etc.)

Next idiot I hear refer to Fakie as Switch is going to get punched in the head.
