yea just wondering if anyone else has heard this, ive been hearing ppl talking about saying darkside instead of fakie bc fakie is too related to snowboarding or sumthing. just wondering if uve heard about it

 
darkside? that sounds kinda dumb for skiing backwards, just use switch

id be down with that lingo. and to anyone whos reading this please do not use words like ollie instead of hop or shifty instead of twister. we are skiers not snowboarders. you cant ollie on anything except a board and a twister is stilll a twister no matter how cool you make it look.

Darkside is when a skateboard is tapeside down. It would be really hard to ski with your skis upside down. Darkside for backwards is retarded.

i've heard some people define darkside as doing tricks switch and unnatural. kinda like nollie on a skate. i don't like the term darkside though, i personally prefer using nollie.

 
or we could stick with cool names like rye with swiss, hold the mayo (Switch misty 5)

Actually, darkside for unatural fakie sounds kinda cool. But not for just skiing switch. Liek a darkside 540 instead of an unatural switch 540; it IS a lot easier to say, and kinda sounds cool.

i think anything that shortens long trick names is cool, i mean look at skating (rollerblading that is), you've got unnatural 450 disaster over soul switch up unnatural over soul to 270 out...etc. kinda an exaggeration i know but still, darkside instead of switch unnatural, i like it

I think it would be practical. Its not like saying toxic or tail, because it serves no purpose to say toxic over tail.

This is eliminating the need to say 2 long words. Instead we could just say one nice one.

'Unatural Fakie' sounds so ugly and is a mouthfull.

'Darkside' sounds alot cooler.

k2skeepimp was right... darkside, the way I know it, means spinning unnaturally. It has no reference to whether you're regular or switch. Although now I guess people are calling it a 'dirty' spin. I think darkside sounds cooler though... and I like 9mk's idea. I move to add 'darkside' to the Skiing Dictionary, as an unnatural, switch spin.

so there are four ways to do tricks

regular: going off forwards and spinning naturally

unnatural: going off forwards and spinning unnatural.

switch: going off backwards and spinning naturally

darkside: going off backwards and spinning unnaturally

This darkside buissness is a fucking joke it sounds like its out of starwars or somthing, why cant we just call it switch unnaterul???? its longer so it sounds more tecnical, as for hop not being ollie, thats what it is, you flex onto the back of you skis and jump, just like a skate board without the flex!
