Fake IDs, are they worth it?

you will most likely get caught at some point or another. the main thing is that punishment is normally just losing your id. i had a police officer confiscate one of mine and nothing happened because of it.
 
Unless you live in Calgary. More of my friends have gotten fined for jaywalking than for underage drinking or blazing, one ended up getting taken in a couple years later because he forgot to pay it.

That said fakes are a calculated risk. In most cases nothing will happen except maybe losing the ID. Occasionally much bigger shit will happen, like the kid above who mentioned getting fined a couple thousand dollars. This is rare, but to deny it's existence is ignorant. You could get in a lot of trouble, it is unlikely, but could happen. This is a situation where being polite and not arguing will help your case tremendously as far as getting the fewest repercussions. Know when you've lost the game and lose gracefully and you're likely to get out ok.

it's pretty simple man. have a fake, keep it in a hidden part of your wallet, use it only to buy/get into places and if they reject you then you dip with haste.

unless you're a fucking retard there is a pretty slim chance of getting in trouble.

no part of your wallet is hidden when a LEO is looking through it, which is not a hard situation to find yourself in. is the chance slim? yes. should you approach it lackadaisically because you assume there is no way to get caught? fuck no.

one friend was pulled over, had an empty bottle in his car. cop looked through his wallet and found a fake

another friend was leaving the store. cop ran his plates, saw he wasnt 21, pulled him over, found a fake

how hastily you leave has no impact. if they keep your id which they 99/100 times will they have, in essence, your identity. once again, if you have at least a little knowledge on the subject you put your real name on the card. one friend got his taken at a store down town. he thought that was all until a month later when he was contacted by the school administration. it isnt rare for colleges and local stores to have a program worked out where this happens

your smug approach is dangerously intertwined with your lack of experience and WILL get you fucked some day
 
First situation could easily be avoided by not keeping empty bottles in your car or by not carrying your fake around with you when you're not using it.

The second situation could also be avoided by only purchasing alcohol from grocery or convenience stores. The cop won't have probable cause to pull you over if there is the possibility you could have bought legal things, nor would he ever bother to even run your plates.

Third situation will never happen because no reasonably intelligent person puts their own name on the card.

second of all I'd like to highlight the part where I said unless you're a fucking retard. don't drive around with empties and if you have to then put them in the trunk. empty bottles in your car is just asking for trouble.

they do not take your ID 99/100 times. in my experience, they take it zero times. one of my friends had a shitty fake so we went to 4 different liquor stores in a couple hours before it worked. the way you see it we would have cops waiting for us by the 3rd store.

you sound like a parent trying to lecture me on the dangers of breaking the law.
 
i dont understand what point you're trying to make. that it is impossible to get in trouble with a fake id? because if so, then you do need a good lecture from a parent. your head is not screwed on straight

Definitely. Ive had one for two years and never had a problem. After you get one you can actually go to bars which are a lot more fun than 99% of house parties.

might be different in america but here in Canada having a fake id isn't actually illegal unless you are using it, also you can just say no to search and they cant do anything .

Also all the lecturing about how it is illegal seems pointless seeing as the op wants one to buy alcohol, and it safe to presume he will drink the alcohol which is also illegal
 
unless all your friends go out to bars or you absolutely cant get booze somewhat efficiently theres really no point, waste of money. Especially for $150 thats nuts but if you really want one go for it. Also ignore the political freaks in this thread
