why can't people just watch his movies and form opinions afterward? a lot of you totally missed the point of bowling for columbine. it's not to blame k mart or take away our gun rights, it's to examine what the hell makes america such a violent place compared to so many other countries. and he doesn't just make up all this shit, he can back up all of his facts. yes, he manipulates some footage, but the facts are true. conservatives are just too blind to see that the facts speak for themselves and expose bush as the shitty president he is. why don't you guys give the movie a chance before you bash it. and if you are going to bash it, give good reasons why, don't just be a blind bush follower. be able to support yourself.

alright i'm pretty conservative, let me just say that. but there seemed to be a major flaw in moore's argument.

in the first half of the film, he argued that the strong ties between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family and the bin Laden's led to direct Saudi influence over American policy.

in the second half, he kept repeating that the war was being waged for control of Iraq's oil reserves.

Those to arguments contradict each other. If the Saudis had ANY influence over the Bush administration they never would have gone along with an American invasion of Iraq. The oil reserves that Iraq has are the second largest in the world, behind saudi arabia's. If the USA had control over the wells in Iraq, it would have no need to import oil from Saudi Arabia, thereby reducing the Saudi's cashflow by a large margin. It just doesn't make sense for the saudis.

i think that they are not contradictory if they are viewed how intended. the saudi's, having the one comodity that the USA and the 'western world' require...oil, in effect have some countries (the USA's hands tied). The USA cant threaten the saudi's beacuse the saudi's can threaten to cut off oil supplys. The US gov't is not so stupid as to not reallize this, but there are few solutions to such a problem. One could be to not acuse the saudi's of anything, maintain an oil source, and move on knowing that the majority of the 911 attackers came from Saudi. Secondly the USA could sucure an alternate source of oil, and then proceed to acuse the saudi's of what ever they like. This was the choise the USA made. Invade iraq, secure the second riches oil fields in the USA, and then they would be able to proceed to acuse the saudi's with impunity. That is the reason why bush over rode the UN desiction, lied to the american people, and made sure to secure oil wells before museums, hospitals, power plants, schools and other important infustructure. The USA has run into a few snags, but over all has now successfully carried out its first faze of its plan, and if bush gets reelected, undboutably will move into the next faze a soon as pipelines in iraq are effectivley guarded against attack by american troops.

but now to the point. i saw a little blurb on f 911 on everyones favorite cable news network, fox. anyhow, they were ripping up the film, and in the process showed a few clips from the film, but in the clips entirety, and in context...

you know that great shot of bush denouncing terrorism, and then proceeding to send a drive down the tenth fairway? well, im sure we were all ment to think that that was post 911, and that bush was 'fighting terror' by golfing... well, or friends over at fox played the entire unedited clip, and revealed that its actual date was in august of 2001, and bush was in the middle of referencing a hamas bus bombing in jeruselem...

mike, come one now...

and on the point of the alleged flights for the saudis durring the no fly period, this was also shown to be false. the flights, according to the faa, occured on the first day that you or i could have flown... a few days after the planes were grounded...

i am sure that moore could have put together a truthfull film that could have been accuratley called a documentery, but apperantly he felt like composing a fiction, or better yet, a fantasy peice in the edit room.

all i know, is that the democrats had better hope and pray that moore doesnt speak the name kerry too many times, or it will be the death knell.

i haven't seen the movie, but when moore was on the daily show he was talking about the saudi flight thing and said that it ocurred after airspace was opened, don't know if it is different in the movie. either way, the important thin in there is that those flights carried saudi royals and members of the bin laden family soon after the attacks.

First off I'll just say that Michael Moore is extremely good at what he does, but what he does is NOT make documentaries. I'll watch his movies because they are funny and somewhat clever but they arn't much more than propaganda films that spew out his extreme left wing rhetoric. He does a wonderful job of showing people things so they only see one side of a topic and thats fine if you don't enjoy thinking for yourself or looking at things from many perspectives. I suggest everyone go see the film but keep an open mind.

I have yet to see the film, and I can attribute that to the fact that the city I live in is too set in their ways to consider bringing a movie like this to the theaters. I plan on seeing it soon though.

For those of you calling Michael Moore an idiot (or something along those lines)- I assume you mean that his views are idiotic. HE is not an idiot. He is making loads of money off of what he does and is far better off than many of you will ever be. Seems to me that he has things figured out.

i just saw this movie, and regardless(sp?) of what any of you think i personally thought it was a great movie and very well done. and i hate extremly now. and i relally dont give a shit what your opinions are.
