Faction Skis?

I was thinking of potentially buying faction skis. I know they're super light and fun skis but I wanted to know if they're they durable?

I have a pair of candide 3.0 that will not die. still poppy as fuck and full of life. over 150 days of thrashing on em. The only problem is I want all of candides; 1.0-4.0. but 3.0 is good on anything. i am sold on faction. customer service is solid as well.

Why? Because the graphics aren't flamboyantly dumb like all of J skis. Its a badass ski, to do badass shit.I really like faction

Seem like a great ski But the idea of them just seems boring

I had the opportunity of demo-ing some faction candides at hood. They're a nice ski an all, they hold up very well and are hella light and stable, however they don't really suit my kind of skiing. but hey thats just me. That being said yea there not the most "fun" ski to ride on but there definitely a nicely built ski.

Exactly

I have a the Faction Kennedys and I honestly love them for the park and the groomers! They just rip and they have so much speed and edge grip. I ski in the midwest so no powder here. I just talked to a kid today and he had the 3.0s and he said he loves them. Factions customer service is amazing and they are pretty durable! Def recommend going with faction skis!

I work at a ski shop and during the demo days at stratton last season I went out of my way to take 2 runs on candides. POS for east coast at least. That sudden rocker really bites all the sudden once you get it far enough on edge to engage the tip. And they chattered hard.

I can see how they work for him soaking up all those bumps at his home resort but god damn they do not carve well. Probably a different story in pow, but I am far from sold on why the ski needs to be bent like that.

Hmm, which model did you try? That's disappointing given their price point

Love my Candide 1.0's. Graphic comes off along edges pretty easily, but my skis have held up pretty well. I had the 2014 atomic infamous, which broke after about the a month. So now I'm really happy with how my Factions durability.

I mean just off the top of my head...

Candide, Delorme, Tim McChesney (who is horribly underrated IMO), will Berman, anti ollila, Daniel hanka. There's probably some others I've forgotten (is Duncan Adams still there?). Either way, it might not be the same level as Armada or a powerhouse like that but its still fairly stacked

I have a pair of faction candide thovex 2.0 and this is the second season with them and they almost feel new. It's also one of the most fun skis i have ever had because they are so buttery and you can do so much on them all over the mountain.

I have some Faction Prodigies that I bought last year off steepandcheap for $250. They've held up quite well in the park, top sheets are still pristine despite many crossed ski incidents. I especially love them for slushy spring days, they are the perfect slush ski, but they do alright in small amounts of pow as well. Hardpack performance is good, but they certainly lack the pop of a full camber ski on groomers.

Maybe the Candide line up is lightweight, but the prodigies are pretty heavy, almost as heavy as a K2 ski. I was mostly sold on them because they have a longer sidecut than the candide 1.0 and 2.0. and the STP concept intrigued me (the ski is soft laterally but stiff torsionally). I really like the way the skis perform in cut up conditions, when charging forward the floppy tips keep me from nosing into potholes, (also good for nosing up awkward park features) but then when I scrub speed they feel really solid and not squirrelly like a typical soft ski would.

Faction also has a great sintered base, they are very fast, hold wax well, and come from the factory with a deep structure already ground in, which is not something I see from most companies. I often have to go to my local shop and have them put a structure on any new skis I buy because of the suction drag we get here in the PNW wet snow. Didn't have to do this with my factions which was nice.

I have last years 3.0s 191 with Dukes nice and heavy! man ski! You mid west and east coasters need to fuck off and stick with shitty park skis, or maybe bikes since you don't have winter anymore ha! These skis are boring??? Are you fucking kidding me. And their team isn't that impressive? Jesus Christ I'm moving to freeskier fuck this

Duncan is still there. Hes a sick skier, even watching him fly down groomers is some of the best skiing ive seen,.

Check out his season edit
