Facemasks Required On Mountain

I'm not particularly afraid of covid and I don't think it's deadly...but at the same time I think you're a weak ass mf if you can't handle simply wearing a mask when a business/organization asks you to on their premises.

Worked a two mask system today. Standard cotton mask awhile inside since apparently they work better. No way I'm wearing cotton outside though so I'm wearing a basic Buff in lines and on the chair. Seemed to work for at least one day.

The state-run mountains in NY are pretty vigilant about the mask mandate, especially bc they don’t want to get shut down by Cuomo. But masks are mandatory at all ORDA-run resorts unless you’re sitting down and eating or actively skiing and riding. Ik the lifties at Jore will give people shit if their mask isn’t covering their nose or simply not on at all but if you respect everyone there and follow the rules then they’re nice to you back. They’re not making passholders reserve days and they just ask you to ride up the lifts with who you came with, which is nice bc thinking about it, it’s a pain in the ass to reserve days as a passholder and if there’s four of you in the car arriving there, it’s dumb to force a limit on how many people can sit on one chair.

The only adjustments I’ve had to make were only for booting up at my car more often and making sure I’m masked up when I’m supposed to, then I just let my nose breathe when I’m skiing so my goggles don’t fog up.

Also idk about you guys but I keep a spare mask in my pocket in case if I do need to go in the lodge. But other than that I have a balaclava for when I’m riding. Even bought a multi-layered one made by BlackStrap so I can have some sense of comfort when I have it on in the lift line and not spread germs all over the fucking place and risk getting other people sick.
