Facebook people who call themselves photographers

I bought my Mom a camera phone. I asked her to take some pictures of my graduation with it. She thought you had to look through the lens to shoot, rather than the image displaying on the screen, so all my graduation photos are pictures of my mom's right eye.
 
im more of a videograper but every now and again i switch my camera into photo mode

Here's a kid that goes to the same college as me. He "specializes" in outdoor sports. Some of his pictures are super corny like this one, but most of them are just picture of ducks and squirrels.

I definitely have this problem... I have a bunch of friends who buy a dslr and lightroom 4 and make a Facebook and then they are "pro" It is decently annoying

But (I'm ashamed to say) I watermark my pictures... I know I'm not even close to pro but I want to take pictures for graduations, and weddings and what not so i put a very simple font (some sort of basic font) on the bottom and make it almost see through so that people know who took the picture and will look me up if they need someone, But it is not very noticeable.
 
i don't really know if this should annoy me as much as it does, but the other day at graduation i saw some guy taking pics with his 7d and using the on-camera flash...
 
not that big of a deal, i sometimes resort to on camera flash if i'm without my speedlight and i'm desperate for light. depends how far away he was though.
 
I really don't have a problem with this and don't know why anyone would. Like, sure, it's annoying. Sure, it's stupid. Sure, they're terrible shots. But whatever. Who cares? It makes me feel a bit better about my photography ability (which even I recognize to still only be fair at best). But beyond that, annoying people will be annoying people.
 
yea its not a big deal, he just appeared to be the kind of person who doesnt know what theyre doing so i was like ugh
 
oh come on, anyone with an ounce of sense knows that both nikon and canon make fantastic cameras, and a capable photographer ought to be able to pump great shots out of both. don't be a fanboy, no one likes fanboys.
 
so? if you have a bit of a clue about what you're doing, its amazing what you can get away with using an on camera flash for. great tool in a lot of situations really. don't hate on someone for using what they had available to them.
 
The last week of school in my history class we were asked to make a powerpoint about what we want to do once we graduate, and at least a third of my class are planning to be photographers.

damn seattle hipster photographers.

this kid right here is a perfect example of what you were talking about. if his profile isn't blocked some of his pictures aren't bad but i can't stand the kid. his most recent status was "anyone up for a photo shoot soon" all he really does is take pictures of random girls who this he is creepy http://www.facebook.com/brady.bessette
 
haha, classic example of a guy uploading every photo he takes, and they're all just macro photos of leaves and shit.
 
My favorite is this girl who is alwayyss ranting about how people just "steal" her work and it's not free and how can friends try and take advantage of her and ask her to take pictures for them.... Blah blah so fucking annoying. Bitch you have a fb you're not incorporated don't act like you're a modeling studio. you own a damn camera congrats. Careful way up there on that high horse.
 
Someone I know created an album called "Photography" and added 181 new pictures. A few choice examples:

The comments were "wow, your photography keeps getting better!" and "stunning artwork!"
 
Thats actually a very good picture. The photographer must have timed it perfectly snapping a shot during the split second those two cows popped their heads up from munching that turf
