The problem isn't that people take bad photos. We know that everybody takes bad photos when they start out; it's to be expected.
The problem is that they start watermarking their photos and creating a facebook page for their "photography studio" from day 1. I swear, it's like they come home from Best Buy with their new T1i, turn it on Auto, take a slightly out of focus picture of their dog, watermark it in a shitty cursive font, and it immediately goes on FB as the first photo on their 'photography' page. What I don't think they is realize is that the whole point of watermarking photos is to ensure that your name is associated with them so you A. get your name out there and B. don't get your photos stolen. But these people don't realize that A. their photos suck and they shouldn't be associating their name with their photography yet, and B. NOBODY is going to try to steal photos that suck!
People just need to show a little self-awareness. It's good that they just got a camera and are excited, but they need to step back and look critically at their photos and realize they're really not at a level yet where people care at all about their photography, and nobody wants to pay the 'photography studio' to have a shitty 'photo shoot' where every picture is taken on Auto. I've been filming for like 5 years and I have yet to make a facebook page for myself because I'm not convinced people really care enough, so that makes these brand new photographers even more annoying.
