Face Masks

So i just went into my gear and realized i have no ski masks. Living in Washington it gets wet and having a breathable facemask is crucial for those not so blue bird days. I have tried so many types of masks from bandanas to REI brand ninja masks. Nothing seems to work.

-Bandanas look wierd with helmets and can be a pain. Also they aren't warm.

-Fleece isn't breathable enough

-any tight woven material is prone to freezing or just not breathing at all.

So, what do you use?

my grandmother makes me face masks out of 2 bandanas sewn together with a little piece of fleece in the middle. works good but it will freeze solid after a while.

I wear a face/neck tube I got at mec, it works great and rarely freezes. It's not the warmest thing in the world but if does protect against wind and is my warmer than nothing.

yowies for sure, ordered an arctic yowie the other day but they had just been bought out by some overseas company... sales manager emailed me and hooked me up with two regular yowies and throws in a lanyard too for the price of one regular yowie. they're also easy to layer up

moral of the story-buy a yowie, you may end up with two

i have a serius mask that works really well. its made out of a neoprene/fleece blend and looks like a bandana. i find myself taking it off from time to time even on the coldest of days because my face starts to get hot. actually now that i think of it my face is always hot...born that way i suppose
