There's a difference between being brainwashed by the media and actually being knowledgeable on a subject. The right wing is always blaming the "liberal" media for brainwashing the masses, and its being used as an excuse to ignore global warming in this case. Obviously global climate patterns, and a shitty early season does not a disaster make, but global warming is a serious issue that we need to consider.

People who say "watch an inconvenient truth" every time they hear "global warming" while having their moms drive them to the hill in their escalades may constitue the "brainwashed masses". 99% of climatologists do not.

Yeah, he predicted the warming trend and increase of CO2 in the atmosphere for the past (in case you didn't pick up, that was sarcasm). The theory isn't based on preditions, the predictions are based upon a theory that has overwhelming evidence supporting it.

I support the troops because they are doing what they are supposed to be doing (and a good job, too). However, your generalization of me hating america is.....wow. Don't think too hard. Just because I don't support a president with questionable intelligence and a desire to incorporate his religion into things doesn't mean I hate the country he somehow is in charge of.

you make a post saying how the overall weather pattern has changed less than 1 degree.

if the weather pattern changes to 1 degree warmer, do you know how much that effects the nvironment? if you anything, youd know its alot. a 1 degree change in ocean temp can wipe out an entire population of fish, and also cause mass melting of ice caps. it doesnt seem like alot, but its really fragile.

and for those people saying that 'global warming isnt real just look at whistler': its not going to stop snowing overnight. its not like 1 day whistler will never get another flake of snow again. but when its snowing 2 feet and its more wet than usual, or theres a foot and a half rather than 2 feet, global warming is there. and one day eventually it will be significant enough to notice but poeple just say it doesnt exist because there is still big snowstorms.

but when its 60 degrees close to january for 2 years in a row and its really warm all across europe, i think its more than just a warm winter.

and you can still find scientist who think smoking is healthy for you. and by the way statistics can be taken and used to support either side of an argument it is really not that hard.
 
The part where he measured the CO2 concentration in the glacier and showed how much it changed... false Co2 escapes after a couple years. The ice chunks will only measure for about a decade.
 
The pictures of the glaciers now and then. The pictures from now were all taken during warmer months where the glaciers deteriorate a little bit. Dont believe everything you see kids.

So you think that in the winter when it's all white means that all of a sudden glacial ice has magically appeared and then it goes away in the summer only to come back again in the winter? Do you even understand that a "glacier" is a different thing than "snow".

I haven't even seen this movie, but in my lifetime (and yeah, I'm an old dude), I have seen glaciers recede beyond belief and many have outright fucking vanished.

Even the Horstman glacier on Blackcomb where they run summer camps has lost so much that entire lanes that used to be completely covered by glacier now are down to rock, and that's just in the last ten years or so.

If you are actually trying to make people believe that glaciers aren't really receding, then holy fuck dude, I don't even know how to possibly convey the scope of your idiocy.

Considering that most of the world doesn't watch MTV, maybe they were influenced by something else, like perhaps common sense.

Glacial ice is the best record of global climate change for the past 100,000 years. Antarctica's ice record dates back 250,000 years.
 
Could you explain why we're in the war? Is it:

A) Weapons of mass destruction

B) Fighting the war on terror

C) Bringing democracy (i.e. civil war) to Iraq

D) Ousting a dictator that the Republican administration created in the 80s

E) Subsidizing the oil industry so the administration can continue to make profits from an industry that continues to hold the developed world hostage and pollute the atmosphere

Please don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

P.S. for the record, capitalism isn't an excuse when industries are being subsidized by the government
 
just by looking at the corelation between co2 levels and actual temperature how can any of you deny that we are not going to see a large scale temperature change?

if that doesn't show a good enough corelation check out the graph covering the last 400,000 years, co2 holds a relation to temperature

just a final thought; a key to fixing the environmental issues lie in a reduction of population: If we don't address the global warming issue now, and there is a large scale climate shift, including severe weather and ocean levels rising, the earth will give us a reduction of population for us.
