maybe im crazy or maybe its cause my family consists of just me and my mom but thanksgiving always sucks at my house, and i feel like its just an appetizer for the real holiday of winter....CHRISTMAS / whatever gift giving holiday you celebrate...anywhoo. im already startin' a rough draft of my christmas gift list so far i've got:

- Toy Poodle (i chose a pup from a rescue, he needs a little work done cause he was abused, but with some vet treatment he should live a long comfy life, thought itd be better to adopt instead of just goin' to my local pet store)

other than the lil' guy i'm not sure i want anything in particular? what are you guys thinkin' bout

oh wow i need to learn how to read, theres already a christmas list thread, ok lets delete this post?

its pretty obvious you miss the whole point of thanksgiving. instead of just thinking about the gifts your gonna get in a month maybe be thankful for everything you have?

i cant help but take a little offense to you saying i missed the point of thanksgiving, i love my mum, thanksgiving dinner isnt any different compared to regular dinner, just am chance for my mom to experiment with her cooking(YIKES) i dont need a special day to be thankful for my family, im thankful everyday

I think i just hate thanksgiving with a burning passion cause i was Native America # 3 in our school's 2nd grade play and not Native American #2 or #1, plus having to learn about the pilgrims each year was irritating as a child

and in regards to gifts, i dont really care what i get 'cause the best part of christmas is caroling and dressing up for a christmas techno party at a friends, i was just curious to see what everyone else was thinking about

thanksgiving is a great holiday. Even if you don't have family theres other things to be thankful for and, no offense but I highly doubt anyone takes time out of every day of their life to think about what youre thankful for. Its a time to sit down and have great food and really think and reflect on what youre thankful for.

All I know is I legit passed after eating turkey. And I didn't celebrate it with my family..... Just a bunch of friends and it was good.

its understandable... what you are saying in all reality i wouldnt want to eat someones bad cooking, and you may be thankfull for what you have everyday, but some people outthere dont take the time to give thanks for what they have, and some people including me actually have a pretty good meal for thanksgiving. So... while i understand why you (along with the majority of the population) like christmas better, i believe that there is more to it than you may think about, and maybe you dont understand this( no offense) but thanksgiving is about more than giving thanks, and is really in my opinion one of the most important holidays ever celebrated, because it isnt about spending money on others, it is about giving more than thanks.
