Extreme ADHD and Online High School

Alright so I'm 17 y/o and I'm a Junior in High School. I go to a normal high school everyday just like everybody else... But this morning I kept seeing a commercial on tv about online high school.

My Questions are...

-Do you think that since I have ADHD, online schooling would be a good or bad thing for me?

-Is anybody enrolled in online schooling and what do you think about?

-Pros and cons?

-Whatever else you can think of.

At school there are soo many distractions with everybody and the "busy work" that I just lose track most of the time and it reflects in my grades... But when I'm at home I don't get my work done either because I'm lazy, a HUGE procrastinator, and I get distracted by the computer, dreaming about skiing, chillin with friends, ect.

The whole program is free and funded by the great state of Washington (JEA! REPPIN THE PNW!!!).

You get a free laptop, printer, and whatever else you need.

You also get a certified teacher when you need help and such.

Here's the link to "Insight School" (Online HS).

The downside of the whole thing is that I would probably eventually become socially unaware, have no friends except the ones I ski with, and not be able to try to hookup with ladies.

Thanks!

You sound exactly like me. I'm worried that if I take online courses then it will be harder to get into a university when I decide to go to college though.

so, the thing about online highschool is its on the intrawebz, and it just so happens that the website that youre posting on, and probably addicted to like the rest of us is also on the intrawebz. if you have etreme adhd youre going to get alittle bit more than nothing done in online school

im just like you honestly go to a doctor get some adderol, vivance, etc it helps a lot if you really cant focus or you could just deal with it now plsu would ur ather be distracted at home doing nothing or at school with other people?

he's on a lot of adderall already.

I'm prescribed to 50mg of vyvanse per day and pat, like I just told you over gtalk, I really suggest you ask your doctor about it. so worth it.

i have extreme adhd and im doing online college courses next semester so i can ski every day.

not really sure about the online school... might be a good idea actually, but ddduuudde can i ever relate to you. ADHD's such a bitch, i can never get any shit done.

dude think about your problem at home, you go on the internet too much and go on here way too often (like me). so if you were doing school all day you would just be distracted by all the things you can do on your comp.

i cant see it working

im taking online classes right now for running start and its really easy to procrastinate... and there really isnt anything making you do the work. so its hard to get motivated to do it. so i dont know if that would be a good idea for you. but i would suggest looking into running start. you can take classes that you want to take, and you will still be in the classroom so you can still make friends (and find new girls haha.) and and there isnt any busy work... the classes are a little harder because they are college level but you wont be in class for as long each day so it kinda evens out, for me it does at least.
