Extracting stripped binding screws

A tough combo: stripped screws and heaps of epoxy. I was swapping the AFDs (shout out Rossi North America customer service - any and all look binding part seekers hit them up) and screwed the pooch on removing these. Any tips on getting these out from past experience? Would ya recommend taking them to a local shop?

Step 1.) Hit it with your purse

Step 2.) Heat the screw with a soldering iron, and make sure you have the right driver. Don't just try to shove any old screwdriver in there, you want a #3 posi drive bit. If a proper bit doesn't bite, you can try some friction increasing material (like the stuff used for bike seatposts) on it. If that doesn't work, you can use a dremel with a small cutoff wheel to carefully notch the screw head in order to grab it with a flathead. If that doesn't work, you may need to drill out the screws and use something like a bolt extractor, but that's last resort because it's a major pain in the ass

Step 3.) profit
 
You can try a rubber band on the head of the screwdriver, but if they are in there good it most likely won't work. Best bet is to cut a straight line across the head of the screw with a dremel and use a flat head to get them out.
 
Find a pozi drive bit and attach it to a socket wrench. Makes it so much easier to get the down force needed to turn the screw. Rubber band trick works well, I've found a piece of paper towel can make more friction. Hold a soldering iron up to the screw to warm up the glue. If you don't have one, give your skis a waxing underfoot but be careful not to hold the iron in place for too long or you'll kill the ski. I've never tried, but you could also try a screw extractor from a hardware store.
 
I’d recommend taking to a shop. I did the same exact thing a few weeks ago.

Shops have different screwdrivers that are usually wider / less sharp.

They also shouldn’t charge to remove the screw.
 
Id try a screw extractor, plenty of youtube tutorials out there to help you use them

Sidenote, is rossi actually getting you a afd for those? That binding is old af
 
you have used wrong bit/screw driver, without the correct force or way.

Drilling the heads off is superfast/super easy, just centerpunch it first. Find someone who knows "tools and stuff" (actually knows it)
 
Thank you all.

Was able to dremel thru the screw to form a flat head groove. Then took a soldering iron to the screw for about a minute or so, heated the thing up till you could smell the epoxy, and at that point, it gave loose. Brilliant. Then was able to twist the whole binding to get the other screw out. Then drilled that out, because somehow, it was stuck in there. Got it out. Fresh new start.

AFDs are installed. Yes, call Rossi and get some freshies. Photos to come.
