Explain Rockered Skis To Me!

If you know what skis look like and you know what a rocking horse looks like you should be able to answer your own question.

you dont live out west do u. well you know how when you put your skis on the ground the middle rises up off the ground a little? well rocker is the exact opposite of camber, the tips and tails are bent up so when put on the ground only the middle of the ski is touching the ground. they are sick for pow (or so i hear) i cant afford them

ya its also called a "reverse camber". google k2 pontoon to check it out. they are really pricey though. i saw them ON SALE for $800

You are all wrong, the spatula is REVERSE CAMBER, the Pontoon, ep pro, hellbent, and arg (i think) are ROCKERED. Rockered means having a flat spot under foot and the anti camber only in the tip and tail, reverse camber means the whole ski is anti cambered making it almost usless on any thing but a foot on new snow.

same shit, different name. Very little difference other than on cat tracks.

It simply means bent skis, the tip and the tail won't touch the snow when laid flat on the ground. This means that you never ever sink or tip dive in powder, and since the contact area with the snow is pretty small it is very easy to initiate turns.

He just explained two completely diffrent things... Rockers and Reverse camber are completely different asshat.

That's not even the reason for it. When you ski powder, your tips bent up anyways. So Camber is pretty much pointless... you surf the snow. It has nothing to do with turn initiation

I was going to write some long thing up....but arguing about the

difference between rockers and reverse camber is just nitpicking.

generally, rocker is just at the tips, reverse camber consists of rocker in both the tip and tail. In my mind, the ARG, Pontoon, Lotus 138, G-funkensein, praxis, spats are all reverse camber. All have no camber underfoot. Some of them have flat camber for longer lengths before the rockers begin, but all of them have larger rockers in both the tips and tails. No normal camber anywhere.

Rockers skis to me are the EPH, hellbent, lotus 120, new sally ski (cant remember the name), and a few others. They have flat camber from the tail all the way up until where the rocker begins.

Conceptually....they

are essentially the same thing. both serve the same function using the

same construction, only in one case it is applied throughout the entire

ski, while other times it is applied to only one part of the ski.

And saying that spats are pointless in less that a foot of snow also makes it obvious that you have never used them.

They

are some of the best tree, crud, and corn skis that you can buy, even

with all of the newer models coming out. I actually didn't like them

too much in deep pow (much prefer my FFFs). But in choppy snow, trees,

or corn, they are fucking amazing.

no thats different, the spatual is just fatter under foot, these skis are like mad twintips on steroids.

people above are right. rocker is a certain points where the ski bends. reverse camber is the same bend all the way. hellbents and pontoons are flat under foot, and rocker in front and behind the toe and heel.

hey andy, whats it like riding the hell bents in the park?

watching you in that PC edit blew my mind, and the skis looked SICK. but how does it feel compared to a reg ski?
