Explain FIS controversy

I haven't been on here in a while and I saw a FUCK FIS picture today, can someone explain all the FIS controversy so I know what position to take on this

FIS = Regulation

Regulation inside of freeskiing is an Oxymoron.

Our forefathers in freeskiing stopped skiing moguls, aerials etc.. because it wasn't allowing them to ski how they wanted, so letting FIS back into our sport is just going back to the days of the repression of a skiers ability to express their own personal style and flavour.

FIS would tell vinny$ to go home and try again for his performance in big air. Not cool. They could care less about pushing the progression of style and creativity- which is where I think skiing should go or else people will just get hurt. The latest B&E show was unbelievable, to see henrik destroy himself coming up short on a triple was devastating. Get well soon.

Basically FIS scheduled the World Championship to go on at the same time as the XGames thinking riders would choose the world champs over X, unfortunately for them, they were sorely mistaken. Every elite rider in the world was at X and the World Championship was basically reduced to skiers that nobodies ever even heard of. Not to put them down at all, but bobby brown, goepper, wallisch, vinny, jossi, joss etc. were all at X, not at the world champs.

I turned my TV on and got all excited to watch the world championships only to realize I had never heard of a single skier competing. It was still fun to watch because you don't get to see free skiing on TV everyday, but it definitely took a little away from it not knowing what to expect from each rider.

A couple things are wrong with your statement:

1) every freeski judge under FIS or AFP take the exact same exams and clinics therefore they know what to look for.

2) AFP and FIS judges are the SAME PEOPLE!!!! FIS has basically given the AFP free reign to judge their comps...

3) up until this year, X-Games was 100% spin-to-win and the biggest, gnarliest tricks were rewarded with style playing little parts.

Well didn't vinny get 2nd last year or at least get scored well?

I'm not really a fan of either honestly.

Always kind of hope it would all die and something better would come up. Or somebody would start something low key, for the skiers/riders even if it was low budget and not even televised.
