Wow....THAT'S gonna piss some people off.

I think China is going to find themselves with more and more of a legitimacy deficit (much like ours in America) in coming years. They've tried to contain it by sticking to soft power almost exclusively, but to become the world player they want to, there's going to have to some serious reform in a number of areas.
 
it wouldn't even let me go to china.com

they never should have held the olympics in beijing.
 
ok, when i was in china, half of the internet site i tried to go to were blocked everywhere i went(i was all over the country too). but thats not it, i was watching cnn one night and all the sudden it cut off and like 5 min later it suddenly came back on, this would happen several times per day. so ya china says their free but their still just as tyrannical as ever.
 
Look up the great firewall for more information on the whole censorship thing..i did a bit of a study on this, and it's quite incredible what lengths China will go to

You can't even do a search for 'democracy' without it getting blocked..

It's amazing how well google has done in China though.
