Ex not all that responsive

My ex and I dated for about a year and a half and mutually ended the relationship because we lived in different countries. A few months ago she started seeing someone new and I haven't really talked to her since until a few days ago. I texted her just to see how things were and how she was doing. Just small talk. Nothing on the lines of "I miss you/want to get back together" or asking about her new boyfriend. Just asked her about work, school, life, ect. She just didn't really seem all that responsive, responding with just one word answers and never really asking much about me or tried to keep the convo going. I know she has moved on and I have too, but it just kinda bummed me out that she didn't even want to talk as friends. I've never had a mutually ending relationship before, so maybe she thinks it's weird to be talking with her ex while she is in a new relationship? If we didn't live on different continents and lived near one another, I could see how it may seem weird/inappropriate to be talking with your ex while in a new relationship. But because of the distance, it just doesn't seem like it would be an issue to be talking as friends. For anyone who has been in a similar situation, what are your thoughts?

Are you on the spectrum, bud?

She sounds like a good GF. You sound like an ex who isnt over her.

Fuck you man, why even say anything at all.

To OP, ex's can't really be friends. It never lasts and always gets weird. find a new focus bud.

not true at all. I have many ex's that I'm still good friends with and know a lot of people who are still really close with their ex's. It just requires both parties being mature about the breakup and having boundaries established. I mean, obviously sometimes shit gets complicated and being friends doesn't work out, but it's not impossible at all to do.

Sounds like it was mutual but still shitty. My guess is that she never really dealt with it all the way and she doesn't Wanna talk to you and get upset.

If she's seeing someone else maybe she's not getting into serious conversation with you because she actually likes the someone and doesn't want to ruin things with them?

having boundaries established.

Then you both get drunk. Then you both remember the good times. Then you forget about your boundaries. Then you both go at it. Then you become a dad.

Yeah op just move on.

Boundaries with my ex go something like this. Don't communicate for a while. Weekend rolls around, she gets drunk and texts me to bang. Me also being drunk, horny and having pussy within arms reach I obviously agree to hang out. We bang, I rollover and go to sleep, we wake up, she leaves and I feel disgusted with myself for a while. I ignore all further communication until I'm drunk and horny a few weeks later. Then I repeat this entire process.

You think because I give a shit about woman issues and race issues that makes me a white night? It's being a decent human being. Get back to 4chan you fat fuck. Or better yet, get off the internet and actually get a woman. Then you won't be so cynical about their issues...

Staying friends with ex's never works, mutual break up or not, you broke up. Move on, stop communication it wont help either of you. If you find each other on the same continent one day maybe a FB message or some shit, but until then just stop. Go get some strange and move on bruh.

Girls just turn in to crusty old grandmas anyways.

I broke up with my last girlfriend because she tried to force me to go to a movie instead of skiing. I was completely pissed and I don't regret dumping her.
