Ex bought me a car

most people posting in this forum have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to the damage haha.

totalled - when the cost of repairing the car is worth more than the value of the car.

i'm gonna take a wild guess and say the wagon was worth around 20k? idk. give or take a couple thousand

with the frame messed up and the damage to the exterior the car definitely looks totalled. you would have to replace the hatch door with that much damage

if airbags go off its considered totaled, no matter what. im sure he could have bought it back and replaced everything for pretty cheap. its just a HUGE hassle. and good luck finding a new ECU...
 
the car needed a roof rear unibody hatch drivers side rear door bumper.... thats before they started tearing it apart and found that the frame was mashed.. first estimate was 6500.. second was 85% the value of the vehicle which was valued at 18,700
 
No I believe you, its just the damage didn't look that bad, but then again I'm no expert on car damage. I thought a car had to be at this stage ,

I had a similar circumstance happen (although too bad it wasn't my ex who smashed into me)
This dumbass rich milf mom with huuuge tits smashed into my old jeep, broke the frame underneath and the entire back end was dented 2 feet into itself. (i'll post pics later)
got to turn in a 98 jeep with a bad transmission and 120k miles (i didnt say it was bad during the evaluation ;P) and get a 2001 grand cherokee laredo with under 50k on it. Sold it to my parents for college. Now i'm 3.5 years into college and I have no debt because of that trade, and I have a Subaru Impreza myself, and its toootally sweet.
 
I highly doubt that...got a link? I could see it busting sensors or throwing a CEL but those are fixable, not to mention pretty much anything is resettable using a Taxtrix cable and opensource tuning through RomRaider and ECUFlash.
