Creating a fossil alone is such a fluke that you'd be lucky to dig for a year and find any substantial form of life from the period of time that humans evolved. If you want to talk about theories then we'll talk about humans causing global warming because that unlike what people think - is a theory - there is zero proof.

Evolution is only a theory because of religious outrage and disputes on the splitting of the species to form different racial groups and differences in physical features. One argues that the Afarensis split early which, in my mind is wrong and supports a racist view, the other supports a dying off of one split and then a seperating into tribes.

yes. they were only perfect in that they had no sin. they didn't have 'perfect' DNA because to have 'perfect' dna they would have to be God. And there's no such thing as perfect DNA how does a random sequence of protiens become 'perfect' switch the adenine and guanine around and we'll be 'perfect'?

the fundamental flaw in the bible, in my mind is that it has inadvertently become extremely misinterpreted. i think about it like this: the bible had to be interpreted, everybody couldn't read and write.. because of this, a surreal thought has over the years become accepted as reality. i'm sorry to be so blunt about it.

as for evolution, gravteck got at what i was thinking throughout reading the above posts..so here's my take on it: a giraffe that has a long neck is more likely to survive because it has an advantage over other giraffes. this advantage comes through the ability to gather food, appeal to a mate, and then ultimately the passing of the gene that will foster another long neck.

one has to realize that we're dealing with billions of years of evolution. creatures have gone on different paths during their lives.. this has lead whatever descendant to lead the rest of the evolutionary chain in that different direction.

where this all leads us to, i have no idea.. i'm just trying to live my own unique life.

 
Yah that is actually very true. Of course the bible is exactly that, an interpretation. The very original bible is still just mans interpretation from the messages and teachings given by God. Those interpretations were written down but through thousands of years they have been changed by man's interpretations and personal believes.

Of course it was also written originally in Hebrew and Greek so through multiple translations from Hebrew and Greek to Latin to Old Enlgish to the foundations of English and then finally into the English that we talk to today is has changed somewhat.

Evolution DOES happen. lets take Pigmy animals. please dont tell me they did not evolve! On an island, the smallest animals are the best at conserving the limited reasources, and are more likely to survive. So, the smallest animals go on to reproduce, and over time they become completely different species, that cannot mate with the origional species. Pigmy elephants, reindeer, and all sorts of other animals. And the birds on the galapogos islands. completely different species. Komodo dragons were a normal montior lizard. after years on islands with NO preditors, it allowed them to grow 3- 4 times the origional size. they are now a completely different species from what they evolved from. i would like to see people like fat tim argue that this is not evolution!

Well we could ask ourselves this...........Could the bible be a lie? To me the old testament is just a lot of filler to the present of when it was actually written. If Adam and Eve are really everyones parents than if we look at social patterns of storys we see that generation after generation important stories are passed down. This doesn't really fit in with how the bible goes because if Adam and Eve really where the originals than why doesn't all of the populatition of the world know this story our have a close version of it. It makes more sense to quit the arguement of Adam and Eve................................

Right-o. Thanks for clarifying that Mike. I thought that most of you would have picked up on the fact that I'm talking about Darwin's theory of the evolution of man, obviously I have greatly overestimated the overall brain capacity of this forum. I personally believe that a species will adapt to it's surroundings. The entire theory of evolution is based around the mutating of genes to turn into something better through natural selection. But things don't get better over millions and millions of years, they deterriorate.

Anyway. No I am not a 'little man' and no I am not 'starting to question my beliefs' not even slightly. I stand firm in them and believe in them without doubt. If you had lived my life (which you haven't so don't even talk about it) then there would be absolutley no doubt in your mind of God's existence. I'm not going to tell you about it because you'll all make blasphemous, disrespectful remarks about it.

And no, you're right, there is no real solid hold-in-your hand proof of God. Think about it a little. It makes total perfect sense. If there was absolute proof then there would be no other religions, there would be no buddha, there would be no Ghandi, there would be no cults in Detroit, nothing. There would be solid proof of a living, breathing God and everyone, including you GDawg3 would quite litereally HAVE to believe in God because of that evidence.

The core of all religions is actually 'faith'. I think a lot of you are actually missing that. If you participate in that religious belief then you have faith in it's purpose. Like I have faith in my God and I believe that he exists. Just like a Buddhist monk believes in the teachings of Buddha and has faith in his existence.

So you see what I'm saying? If you actually know anything about the bible (which a lot of you don't) then you will know that it says that after Adam and Eve, every living person on the planet has the CHOICE (important word there) to be a child of God or to not be. It's your choice, your decision if you will. If God came down amongst us and you knew that he was God then you couldn't make that choice could you, thus destroying his goal.

Read Genesis dude, it explains it. Adam and Eve were then booted from the Garden of Eden, everyone from then on was given that choice.

Also, everyone just assumes that Adam and Eve were the only two people created by God, resulting in imbreeding etc etc. Not necessarily true. Just because it doesn't say that there weren't others doesn't mean there weren't. I reckon that God may have made others after they left the garden because it talks about other families being with them as they settled outside.

Missionaries didn't go around telling people to join their religion because they where %100 sure. They had doubt that their religion wouldn't survive so they went out to make it better. Survival of the fittest. And there we see an example of social evolution. The locomotive of the social train is the human brain. Its not absurd to say that socially people did the same thing as what the species has been doing forever. Evolution is hard-wired into our brain and there is an exact example of it using people who doubt it. Why do men compare penis sizes and muscles??? Because in almost every mamal the women is fought over. Look at elk. THe bigger the horns the techniqually you are. Since our brains began to think more and more we saw there was little need for fighting to gain a women. Unfortunatley thats not out of our brain so we replace this with other comparisons. I noticed you called Skibum stupid.....Maybe its because your trying to establish your self as a strong human who can survive. You are providing your own examples of evolution without knowing it. THE STRONGEST SURVIVE AND GO ON TO BREED AND PASS THEIR BETTER GENES ON CAUSING EVOLUTION. Tim you don't really provide resonable evidence other that your religion. I just don't see how you can not admit that evolution has far sufficient evidence than 'god'.
