Everything is amazing, nobody is happy...

Think about it people...we don't realize what we have/what we prioritize these days.

it's too bad, louis, like a few other comedians (thinking carlin), are so brilliant but because of their roles as comedians aren't taken seriously.

God that just made my day!

i think its bad when the internet goes down for a couple of hours when i did'nt even know what internet was like 11 years ago. haha

so true so true. i loved the one where he talks about the phone you had to turn to dial. lol

thats awesome.
you can really think of every aspect of life, and no matter how shitty it is, its better than like 100 years ago. we can just turn on the lights with the flick of a switch, running water, heat/air conditioning, just like everything we don't think of. its hard not to take it for granted because we are so used to it but this guy is spot on. he should do a whole comedy tour with that theme

at the risk of being unpopular, he didnt point out anything very fantastic.
i mean, i am not a negative thinker or complainer, and yes i am fairly happy with things right now. and yes, many people have lost sight of things.
but... air travel has standards, yes even the shittiest flight today is way better than traveling in a wagon, but that was then, this is now? i dont complain if the flight is late or whatever, and i get mad at those that do, its just... being idealistic does not solve the problems that DO exist here.
what he said was true, and i think people will start to appreciate things more.
still, at 22 years of age, i cant get a loan for a 5 thousand dollar car with my mediocre credit (which was totally possible 3 months ago, i could have bought a fuckin STi), my hours at work are cut to 24 a week (thank god i have a job at my age), my insurance has been brutally reduced (MAJOR thank god i have insurance at my age), its now harder to find rents, harder for me to pay my tuition, im probably not skiing much more this year because of money (i know, boohoo).
spark notes: this post blows cause it makes no sense. spark notes pt 2: while we still live at a very high standard, thing have gotten worse and are affecting everyone in tangible, negative ways. maybe we will focus on being happy, maybe some will default on their mortgages. i feel sorry for everyone having a hard time right now.

I liked it except when he said that my generation is worthless. My generation voted the first African president. His generation ran this country into the ground.

But it was fucking hilarious I lol'ed

i liked the part about going to the bank

"you run out of money, and you just cant do any more things"

yea i thought that too. How is he trying to pin this on younger generations?

Granted i don't know how old you are, but i'm pretty sure college age kids aren't to blame for much of this.

ya im 22 so I was kind of pissed at that comment.

The generation between the baby boomers and us are the generation of "Its not my problem someone else fucked this up..." fuck them

african-american. and voting for an african american president doesnt mean shit, thats not accomplishing something at all. maybe if things change for the better it will be, but simply electing someone isnt an accomplishment.

My generation sucks. We do nothing. No one says it better than Stephen Colbert...

so f*cking true...

our generation is terrible... how can anyone debate otherwise...

colbert is 100% right, we're doing it right now, complaining on the internet... we havent got anything done, the only way our generation knows how to protest is via youtube or blogging about it or complaining somewhere on the internet...

we're pussies, and are by far the moist spoiled, underappreciating generation around.

(yes i do realize it is hypocritical of me to complain about how our generation complains about things on the internet on the internet).

Ya African-American I was out of it. And I think it does, electing a person from a race that was in slavery at one time is pretty monumental.

But what else can we hang our hats on? We pretty much suck so far and most of the people I know are fucking retards so...

people forget the fact that he is just as much white as he is black. why dont people call him a white president or mulatto which is what he actually is.

Yeah thats what I meant.

Voting for a civil servant isn't the end all to world problem...get your hands dirty people!

so your saying that defense of ones generation is stalling progress?

I guess I could see where you are coming from, saying that we are not shitty because someone else is shittier still makes us a piece of shit... haha if you know where Im coming from.

I still think there is a lot of potential in our generation. The real problem in our generation that I see is a complete lack of unity, (excluding education, drive, technological laziness, ineptitude.)

But I guess you could say the same between the hippie drug culture and society in the 60's. The problem is now we are divided on false political and racial lines that are perpetrated by 24 hour news networks trying to get ratings.

^i don't think unity is the right word for what we're are lacking, but those other words describe it well...drive
lol good find though

I dont think its any of those things thats holding us back.

I believe that the problem with todays world is that its moving so much faster then it did 50 years ago, or 100 years ago, and its so much more complicated when it comes to our North American consumer society. The people are getting flooded with so much bullshit in this economic system and they forget (thanks to clever marketing schemes) that cash and work are't the only thing that matters in our daily lives. Our governments are too oldschool in design to handle the quantity and complexity of the issues at hand today in today society and until that structure changes, we will continue to fall...

no, our generation are just lazy motherfuckers who think if they complain on the internet enough stuff will get done...

if we're going to change the world we basically need to start a revolution, a real one, not an e-revolution.

this guy is right! Fuck I'm pumped lets all send email to the president... oh wait, fuck.

How do you start a revolution? I bet the instructions are on the internet some where...

lol that was good, i realize that i take way to many things for granted after watching that

Yea that's true, but to claim something i have waaay to much patients for a kid my age it's stupid...

that was soooo epic. stung a tad when he called us worthless, but i guess most older generations find younger ones disappointing,,,psht we'll show em.

you know i think it's not exactly obvious as to which generation he's talking about; both our generation and our parents are pretty shit

Its all relative. Pretty much if you get pissed at anything, like if your car breaks down, then you are guilty. Anything at all, like if you get food poisoning. Because we will always be able to trace it back to cavemen who had it the worse. So I really don't buy into his argument.

Yeah it is relative. But look at how far we have come in 100 years...why are we pissed when cars break? Businesses need to calm the hell down when shit happens :P
