Everyone should read this before watching women's halfpipe tonight

She wants to make it look approachable? This is laughable - clearly the girl is delusional. If an OLYMPIC ATHLETE is not even capable of a single trick, how does that make anything look approachable? If any message is being broadcast, it is that the sport is anything but approachable.

Honestly, women really need to step up their game in freeskiing/snowboarding. Saying that the women's field is soft is an understatement for sure. I'm not saying they should be throwing quads in comps, or even triples, but come on...what we are seeing is just not technically difficult or even interesting.

Why does it have to be as technical as mens skiing? I think there are things that make women's skiing dope that are different then what makes mens skiing dope. Everything men and women do don't have to be on the exact same level to be dope or exciting. But hey thats just me. If you want to shit talk about a community you arnt a part of then go ahead.

Curious, what do you think makes women's skiing dope? What are they bringing to the table that men are not?

I really want to agree with you, but its not like they're keeping it any more "stylish" either. Its really the worst of both worlds. They aren't really capable of the same technicality or the same finessed, slow rotations, either. Well at least not in comps. Id agree with you if they were just swerving around elegantly and "bunch"ing it out, but its just not the case.

I'm not very good at jumping so I still enjoy watching some of the tricks the girls are throwing, but their rail section usually saddens me. It makes me feel like I could get my penis removed and have a chance at the olympics. Its only a matter of time before something like this happens, with all the new trans laws and shit.

Just the fact that there is skiing is what makes it dope I think. It's just different skiing. Im not saying they are bringing things to the table that men arn't im just saying I love all types of skiing and wether I see someone throw a tripple, or a clean 180 im getting stoked on it. I just think there are too many people trying to tell women how skiing is "supposed" to be and I don't think thats how it should be. You can make skiing whatever you want as long as it gets you stoked.

You can't just say they arn't capable of stuff. Also calm down with the tranny argument. I doubt you can make any womens olympic team by simply becoming transgender. Im sorry you feel these ways about other people

Not buying it. You grew up receiving participation trophies for everything you did, correct? In skiing, more so than in most other sports, the divide between men and women is simply massive. No female competitor seems to be pushing progression. I watched both men’s and women’s pipe yesterday...essentially two entirely different sports.

I personally don’t get stoked watching children ski down the bunny hill or center of the pipe. I also don’t get stoked watching women put down a run that wouldn’t even win a boy’s youth competition in Colorado. I do not see my opinion as sexist, merely based in the reality with which I have been presented.

I think what these athletes do takes a lot more commitment and effort than you seam to realize. And yes, mens and womens skiing is different, im not saying its the same. Calling women children just because they don't do what men do in the pipe is sexist actually. No one is making you watch womens comps, why watch it if you already have a negitive attitude twords it?

Dude I'm so not calming down. I have this knife and I'm fucking ready to do it. I will join the 2022 women olympics and call you out on live TV you fucking biggot.

You are really missing the point entirely. Your view, along with your absolutely horrible spelling, suggests that you're either pre-teen or young-teen. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just understand that your world views will change significantly when you have to start achieving for yourself.

Dude im just trying to have an argument with you. You dont have to take it so seriously. There are points for and against both of our veiws. Get over yourself

I think your just bringing in irrelevent points to make yourself sound "Right". Like I said with the other guy, these are just opinions and it's just an argument. Id prefer we all stay on topic and not get out of control.

P.S. im 19 and had too much coffee which makes it really hard to type haha

Anyone wanna give me a detailed reasoning as to why I should be worried about skiing becoming a mockery from this? People at work who know i ski only laughed at her and knew all the others have talent, she herself is the mockery, not our whole skiing world.

I'm for Olympics having ski pipe and slope but people whining about this and other stuff makes me wish not.

Its no use having an argument if all you want to do is assume things (i.e. that I need to calm down). I think my first post is very mundane and friendly towards you :

I'm not assuming that women aren't capable of the same prowess in pipe and slopestyle, its an observable fact.

Announcers 'Elizabeth is just steezing and swagging down the pipe right now. She is just having a ton of fun. Maybe she'll do a front cork variation."

It is an assumption, just because women aren't doing certain tricks now doesn't mean they wount be able to do it eventually. Men weren't doing half the stuff they do now 10 years ago.

Your first post may have been friendly twords me but you were very disrespectful twords the trans community and I don't think that was called for

its remarkable that you can post so many shitty opinions

It's actually pretty funny to read all of those Olympic comments and see that people get offended by this.

Come on guys, it's just skiing! And skiing is damn fun.

So instead of getting mad about someone you don't know, go out there, shred and have fun.

And if you are a girl you might as well go out there and qualify for the next games...

She seems like a genuine person that's just trying to push herself, the sport and to encourage her fellow Hungarians to get out and be active.

On any other day, I’d probably agree with you. Skiing is skiing. However this isn’t some innocent chick here. If it was a dude in the pipe with the same background, I think everyone’s point/opinion would be the same - upset, salty, discouraged. And I don’t even think she would consider what she did trolling, she took advantage of it.

Also I slightly wish your last statement would’ve ended with /s. Bc someone, somewhere, is likely thinking how they’ll scam the next Olympics (I mean I hope that’s not the case, but really).
