Everyone leaving 9thward?

This may be a really stupid question, but recently 9thward has lost some good athletes. Henrik, Sig, and Charlie Owens from the AM team. Is there any reason for this? am i way behind?

The way 9th represents their company I wouldn't want to ride their skis either

their skis suck and they are fucking awful sponsors. I've heard first hand from Andrew Holson that he is still owed like $2000 plus from them for contract and ski sales.

I don't think he has gone anywhere yet. If he has no one knows haha. I know Sig went to Elan, and Chowens went to salomon

something big must have gone down. Their team page is completely blank. Ninthward has never seem like its really been capable of supporting it athletes very well. At least equal to the level of ability that it's team possess.

its pretty clear isnt it? 9th cant afford big names, just like everyother small brand....it was just a matter of time that Henriks contract with them would be up....I deff thought salomon would jump all over him since he was on there soft goods and boots, the FT news threw that thought out the door though. I hope he went to a big brand that can support him properly. Im sure 9th will find some more am's...its not a difficult thing to do.

Wish people would stop hating on small brands like 9th...does eveyone actually only want the options of salomon and rossi? whos cares where their start up money came from...or if the owners smoke weed (highly doubt they are crackheads...) they make twin tips only found henrik and blew him up show some respect.

are you guys sure henrik left them? i mean he fuckin loves the brand and is always repping it like crazy, like him and ninth are almost like tanner and armada if you ask me.

this sucks cause i love their skis

this. sure 9th is it's own situation with the contract payment business (i don't know if that's even true), but I don't think anyone should applaud the ending of a small ski brand.

Totally agree, I can't remember the year Ninthward started but It was a long time ago. I think they origionally just had the first blood and it was mostly green. If I remember right I think Ninthward was the third independent brand behind Armada and 4frnt. I would hate to see them leave the market.

^ I think your pretty close at 3rd...9th is older then most of the haters on ns lol alot of the kids on this site dont know the history of our sport at all...im sure 9th inspired alot of the core brands...would also hate to see them gone...there product was always good.

^ exactly. i don't really want to go there, but same goes for the treatment of one not so like outerwear brand that's been getting a bunch of hate. i'd rather have some ski bum assholes stirring shit up in the industry then just having big companies like nike handing us product they researched to fit the right demographic of what we might think is "cool". fuck the 1% lolol

so many haters on NS these days...it sucks cause they are all 12 years old hating on things they know very little about...things like 9th that help develope the core ski company industry...kids hating on athletes that really developed the whole newschool movement is my personnal favorite...These kids were born the same year the first twin tips were produced...but some how they know everything about the industry and hate on its founders...guess we were all imature kids at some point...NS should make a 19 and up section for the forums...so kids can keep hating about shit they dont know...and we can skip thourgh all the BS and actually have good forums to read.

my buddy rode for 9 and this year and last year they kind of just shit on everyone. the rep told him that they had shipped him skis so he would wait, call back in a few weeks and he would tell him that they hadn't shipped yet but were going out tomorrow, then the same shit happened over and over leaving him without good skis for the entire year. they even had the nerve to put a pic of him in the catalogue even though they wouldn't stick to their word and give him his skis.

looks like poor management finally caught up.

either way, they're leaving elan production and moving shop to canada. maybe they'll be able to turn shit around.

From my experience, they have the industry standard one year warranty....most companies only cover defects...not things like an improper mounting job...or jib abuse...dont know your situation but my homey had a pair that delamed and 9th quickly replaced them...he also got to keep the delamed pair and just glued them back together...most companies make you send the warrantied pair back.

mine delammed i called and sent them in and they never sent me anything back and wouldn't answer when i called or left a message .shitty fucking company

you mailed them back and they didnt do anything for you? That is pretty bad...they should have at least sent the delamed ones back to you and said sorry its not covered...delam's should be covered under warranty for a year, if there is no evidence of impact infront of the delam...

That sketch is pretty well done!

classic! Ninths are actually well made skis, Elan makes them I think. Their marketing and such is odd, but I had ridden some great ninths. CVPs and 187s are sick.

le comte's the perfect park ski as far as I'm concerned. Never been sure about the companies image but they make great skis, which is the important thing

i own a pair and they're pretty legit skis.

and there's no excuse for ninthward to ship so late and to be unresponsive to customers but i read somewhere that elan was part of the problem so that's why they're moving their production again.

i think 9thward is pathetic, and i skied K2 Poachers and screwed "solution" tails onto my mogul skis in the 90s. i'll be happy when the boss's trust fund runs out.

yeah, and the afterbangs are pretty legit too...

9th makes shitty skis. when it comes to durability, they're only out failed by 4frnt. if you can get 20 days of park skiing out of a pair of 9's you're lucky.
