Are you kidding me?
Everyone hates the cab 10-fest in big air, yet we still spin to win.

i think this issue strikes at the core of why comsp are sw 10 fests. if you follow the consequence of judging higher for unnaty it means its a higher degree of difficulty, just as a sw 10 is a higher degree of diffuclty than a sw 3, yet we'd apparently rather see a 3 than a 10.
maybe its just the nature of comps to streamline and find the hardest degree of difficulty tricks and then have everyone do that trick. maybe there is no solution to this.
i think spinning both ways is alot more impressive in a video seg., in comps i think you shouldn't neccessarily be rewarded for beign able to spin both ways as a measure of difficulty, but rather as variety. just as no one want to see a sw 10 fest, the judges don't want to see you spin to the right the whole comp. even if unnatty is to the right, showing variety shows your a more complete skiier and you display 2x the tricks technically.
the comp system has to come up with away to reward both progression and style more. maybe stepping up and saying that no matter how ugly it is, if we see soemthign we've never seen before you will win (which kind of already exists), but that might promote butters in comps, double grabs, using two grabs, pep's violation of the laws of physics at the jon invite, SOMETHING FUCKIGN DIFFERENT.
maybe a comp that focuses solely on style, so you have to throw tricks you think display your style the best.

i like our nose butters nine more then any cab 10s out there you should do that in a comp

I'd rather see a 10 over a 3, 3's get mad boring and they aren't difficult or impressive or even exciting IMO
yea but you're not thinking out side the box, you're jsut thinking about normal rotations.
i think a bio 3, sw cork 3, sw bio 3 could win a comp, because they're so cray we don't even know what they'd look like.
what about a sw flatspin 5? (is that the trick pep does in the ski porn trailer?)

I'm not thinking outside the box? Oh please sw. cork 3 sw. bio 3, that's not outside the box, there is nothing original about it. And switch flats? Mark Abma has been throwing those regularly for years
