Every Day Carry

except I doubt I'll spontaneously develop a severe allergy making an epipen useless. and in the event that I'd need a defib, i won't be able to self administer, so once again....useless. try again.

I'll just leave this here.....

have you been exposed to every substance on Earth? how do you know you're not deadly allergic to something.

also if you're going into severe shock from anything it would be useful.

defib would be useful to save someone else, and I'm assuming a carriers logic would say he's keeping others safe too

what about a wearing an inflatable PFD? carry around some easy to use splints? bandages? flares? whistle? rope? oxygen? never know when something will save your life.

Point being you really have to be quite paranoid to carry a gun with you wherever you go, but it's really more than just paranoia otherwise you'd be carrying a ton of other more potentially life saving items with you. It seems to me it's more so to make a point or make up for personal insecurities. But yea, I guess it still all boils down to paranoia.

In most countries, epinephrine is a prescription drug, and therefore obtaining the device requires a prescription from a doctor, so at least over here you can't buy one "just in case". Auto-injectors are sometimes used unnecessarily more-so when people carry them without 'needing them'. And let's not begin talking about that other person who uses your epipen and hits a vein.

If you are 20+ and haven't had an allergic reaction and didn't live in a bubble you will not encounter manny things that will trigger you.

Also if someone has a cardiogenic or traumatic shock and you jab them full of adrenaline bad things will happen.

I don't really have an every day carry kit. If I'm skiing I carry my backpack with avy-gear, water, sandwiches ir other food, maybe coffee, knives and strings and stuff.

If I'm not skiing I usually don't carry anything, because I'm either at work or at home, so don't need anything. Phone maybe. Wallet if I know I'm going shopping or if I have to drive and stuff.

If I'm working outside, which I have been the last few weeks, I actually carry stuff. Knives in the belt, phone in jacket, first aid in jacket, backpack with food, water, coffee, lighter, files for the chainsaw and things like that. Then my axe and of course the chainsaw itself, gas and oil, and wedges for felling. I guess I do carry things anyway.

Would never carry a gun though. Super weird thing to do, plus it's extremely illegal in Sweden.

it's kind of like when you tell a child "No" to something and they come back with the "Well I didn't want xxxxxx anyway!".

Yeah, OK. Suuuuure you don't.....

we can and do have pretty much all the same weapons as in the States with a few restrictions on mag size and such. The laws are more lax here than states like NY. Granted, concealed carry is illegal, but people can keep a XCR or something in their car if they want or a tactical shotty beside their bed but they don't. Not because they can't, but because it's just unnecessary. It doesn't make sense to many many people why someone would carry a weapon designed to kill human beings when it's completely not needed. 99.9999% of people in this country can go their entire lives without ever encountering a situation where they would need a handgun on them. And the reply is always "well what if I'm the 0.00001%?" well if you think that way then I don't know how you live your life. How do you step into a vehicle? how do you cross a street? how do you ski without being bubble wrapped? It is risk reduction, I get it, but why focus in on one of the smallest potentially fatal risks you face in day to day life? There has to be some weird psychology involved in it.

Never really leave the house with the following

- Wallet

- Olight flashlight

- Ruger LCR

- Spyderco folder

If you never leave the house with your wallet, how do you buy things?
