okay, so say i spend the day going to class in the morning, then i go into town for lunch and some shopping in the afternoon. i go out for a walk later, then cook dinner when i get home and eat it watching tv, then go to bed. give me 5 reasons i might need a fancy folding knife during all that time.

also give me a decent reason why any of what i said is ignorant?

I don't usually carry a knife, but I carry my leatherman multitool with me almost everyday. It has a small very sharp knife as one of the tools but is 100000x more practical than just a folding knife

Every day is different. I regularly use mine to cut my food at lunch, stray threads on clothes, in lieu of scissors in lots of situations, open a package/letter, etc.

okay, so i usually use cutlery to cut my food since anywhere i might be eating that serves food that would require cutting, ie anything other than a sandwich, will provide it. also that sounds real hygienic, cutting food with a knife you use for other things. stray threads on clothes aren't a problem i tend to encounter too often, and if i do i have scissors at home to deal with them. packages and letters would be delivered to my house where i have both scissors and knives. still not seeing why i'd need to carry a knife with me all day every day.

I use both my leatherman and folding knife regularly. A small folding knife is incredably useful for day to day activities; so long as you keep it sharp.

If High Life counts as piss, then yes.

I now assume that you are one of those whom when they read a sarcastic statement take it seriously.

i usually just have my phone in my pocket and my keys. i don't usually carry my wallet on me unless i know i'm gonna be spending money, otherwise it stays in my car

This is the stuff you carry with you every day? That's means a lot of people are unemployed or carry a handgun to work with them

I some capacity, I have a gun every day. Don't bring it in to work though. I would but their policy forbids it.

I usually carry a kife all the time. I'm always up in the woods hiking, 4 wheeling, shooting, having bonfires and doing a shit ton of other outdoors stuff when I'm staying it at home. A knife Is just a standard tool to have doing that kind of stuff. Even though I'm going to college in the city I still carry one. It becomes a habit, and there's no reason to break it.

I carry flashlight and knife daily. use both daily. Flashlight used for things like looking into the back of cabinets or illuminating keys to find the house key and key hole. Knife- opening packages or letters smal jobs around the house (tightening screws even though it is a folding blade without a screwdriver or prying things open) and self defense because i have had 2 people pull knives on me in the last 6 months

one guy saw people breaking into his car and i was down the street eating tacos at 2am drunk as fuck and he saw us and at first thought we were the ones trying to steal his car then realised we werent cus we were all just eating food and the other one was on a public bus and the guy tried to rob me then backed off cus i had my knife

I don't get everyone making a fuss over carrying knives, which actually come in handy at least a few times a week for a lot of people.

It's carrying guns for personal protection that makes zero sense, unless maybe you live in Mogadishu. You have a better chance of coming across someone needing a defibrillator while you're driving, but people don't carry defibs in their cars. There are more situations that would arise that carrying epinephrine would save your life than carrying a gun, but unless you're highly allergic nobody does that. It's purely out of paranoia. It's illegal in Canada to conceal carry and we aren't all dropping like flies due to lack of personal protection.

The only situation carrying a handgun would actually be useful is if you're spending your days out in the bush where bears are problematic. But even then the chances of getting mauled by a bear are so incredibly low.

A knife can be useful. Was in a crash and seat belt was locked. Had my sog which has a seatbelt cutter and a windowbreaker and I was quite happy I had that.

The only thing I generally have with me is my phone and iPod

What's it like living in a country where you have to carry a gun to feel safe?

People like you are so fucking clueless.....it's not about feeling "safe". I've never felt unsafe....even driving/walking down Cicero in Chicago (ghetto as it gets in case you didn't know). it's about not being fucking helpless in the event that something does happen. there's a big fucking difference.

best keep an epipen and defib with you at all times then. don't want to be caught with your pants down.

What's it like living in a country that doesn't allow you to carry one?

I like the taste of personal freedom in my morning coffee.
