Ever wonder how much a wood shred box would weigh?

Usually the park boxes will be reinforced with metal under so that makes it like 1234092304932x heavyer those things are heavy as fuck

because eventually you're going to decide to build a box. you will think big. you're going to build a 20 ft long box with metal reinforcements and everything. Then you wont be able to move it.

That is why calculations of this sort are useful. you know what dimensions your box should have in order to be legit and practical.

My buddies and i built a 15-footer that was like 14 inches wide or something like that... one person on each end and its not heavy at all. I've carried it myself before.

The model depends on a specific design. You can build a box which consists of about 5 pieces of wood and some plexi-glass and it will be mad light.

Haha, I totally agree. This is just an estimate for someone building a backyard box out of wood. The math i used is for the design i have linked to youtube(idk who made it).
The tool should help you design a box that you can move. If you don't really care about moving it, then weight shouldn't matter!

The whole skeleton of park boxes is metal. Other than the skirting being plywood usually.

Or is that what you meant by reinforced with?

If you need it to be portable. Just use less 2x4s. IF you build it right. You can make it really stong without being too extra heavy.

Plan your bracing out well. Don't use plywood on the sides.

Also are you planning on using steel on it, or pvc? IF your using pvc that will shave a lot of weight off
