I did... tip dug in on an icy bit when we were going up a chairlift in Andorra. Couldnt get it out and the strain was starting to pull our chairlift back... suddenly snap... and my ski is dead.

5 week old skis, insurance didnt cover equipment as i later found out.

Any of you ever snapped skis? Tell us how!!

I think 100.1% of active skiers who have skied for several years have snapped a lot of skis.

yeah, bounced off a cat track doing about 70 and somehow didnt get hurt but noticed afterward i had snapped the tail of one of my skis backseating the "landing"

i also snapped a pair of park skis back in the day but they were super beat up and i think that had more to do with the core being compromised by water inside

i feel like if it happened on the lift, you can convince the resort to compensate you. it was their fault that they didnt have the snow level low enough below the lift to allow adequate clearance

Meh, sounds like that bitch in australia who sued the resort after she got "hurt" on the lift.

lincoln loop off the knuckle of a jump, landed super backseat and snapped my right ski in half....didnt notice it till I started tail pressing some deep snow near the chair at the bottom of the run and realized one ski tip was waay higher than the other

Some crazy replies in here! Seems like you all broke your skis in steezemode haha!

Thats a gd point, though it was over a year ago now so bit late.. besides, i have some new skis now so its all good :)

Going for hand-drag 3, landed super backseat and snapped the ski right underneath the binding. The binding of course flew out and i had to one ski chase the other as it belted its way towards the bottom of the mountain, luckily somebody stopped it as runaway skis scare the shit of me.
