Ever been ripped for skiing on Rockers? I have!!!

definitally shoulda snapped our poles over their heads, and then like curb stomp them with your skis on, so you could the two in one stomp
 
I had heard that the PDog shop at Alta was demoing Hellbents, so I called down to them in december to see how much it would be for a day of demoing.

Me: "Hi, I'm just wondering what it'll be for a day on the Hellbents"

Shop: "Well, you can buy them, or demo Pontoons."

Me: "I just want to demo them, is that possible?"

Shop: "No, we decided not to mount them up this year, but we're selling them."

Me: "....why not?"

Shop: "Well... they're too jibby for Alta"

WTF? This really isn't the end of the world, but I think it's time to change assholes.
 
I got the water ski jokes yesterday when skiing around with my bibbys pros in vallée du parc.

So after a lap in the parks decide itwould be great to do nicevaring turns rigth under the charilfist and jump off everything in sight and uter off that little drop where it saidexpert only.

maybe now they understand that a carving ski is not that usefull on a 300 feet vertical ski resort.

O andan old fool with a stache almost ran straight intome while doing 20 meter radius turns without looking where he where he was going while I wasgoing straight but super slow ( flat part of the hill). I was further down the hill ut was basicaly stopped andhad to jump out ofhis perfect groomed line I guess only to hear him yell me to ski further to the left. I got really pissed off and told him he should check out where he's going instead f thiking he's the man skiinhng down 3 feet of powder in ak when he's only riding groomed runs on the smallest hill IIve skied this year.

So I straight lined into the mogul part of that run and skied down the hill twice as fast ashe was... in the bumps...

I then moved to the other chair cause I was about to punch him
 
ahhhahahha, if a gaper ever tried to rip on me for my rockered skis i probably wouldn't eb able to respond i'd be laughing so hard.

my friend loves to rip on me for trying to rock my praxis (reverse camber and sidecut) on the east coast on like 3-4 inch pow days, but he just doesn't understand how fun they are.
 
I ski the 189 hell bent and definately am tired of hearing all the lame shit in the lift line about the camber and how its too long for me and how the conditions don't warrant such a ski. Not only do they not know, they don't want to know, nor do they deserve to know, and I no longer care to try and educate the stupid so I turn up the ol ipod and ignore everyone. Seems to work just fine, and if the battery dies I'll just point to my ear like my music is blareing anyway so I don't have to respond to all the stupid comments.
 
when i take out my bros 185 scratch bc people go NUTS on me...especially the old people...but it seems like the people who actually get like "angry" are the "cool" locals that think that their skis are the shit and thus everything else sucks. most old people that ask me about them seem to be fairly interested and get interested in them. i would LOVE to have a pair of rockered skis and have people just say "excuse me ur skis are bending the wrong way" to me...

for reference i ski southern ontario AKA hella ice.(except for this season :) ))
 
after all the bad jokes i got, i just made a sticker that said "YES, they're waterskiis" but it kindof backfired. i get more lame jokes now =[
 
wow ive been rippn on the hellbents this season and i think theyre the best thing that ever heppend to me. old guys 'll look at em and be like " wooah look at those suckers!"

anyone who hates on this ski is a totall nooB alltogether.

im pretty sure everyone who has tried rockerd sks loves the feel of them and cant get enough,

doesnt suprise me at all there would be some kids who try and hate on them, have fun with that. hah

im goin to alta in a week too. hope those kids try to make fun of mine ill show them whats good for em.

plus pretty much everyone company is coming out with a rockerd ski next year and there only gonna keep makng them better. its deff part of the futute of skiing rather than just a fad like some people think.

those kids must be fucking stupid if they live in alta.
 
dang i didnt really beleive this thread until i took out some EP's yesterday. you'd thought that on a pow day at hood, there might be some people with pow skis. wrong! i saw like, 2 pairs of sir francis bacons, and a million old people on gotamas. and most of those same people asked me every chair ride and at every lift line...

"how do you like skiing on bananas?"

"are those waterskis?"

"youre skis are bent the wrong way!"

"did you bend those that way yourself?"

"are your skis broke?"

"dont you think those are overkill for a day like today?"

"whats the point of having those bent that way?"

And this was at meadows! on a pow day! im still amazed...
 
its kind of cool though. cause you're going to get a comment either way ~20 seconds into the chair ride. and right away you know if the person is chill (oh sick how you like them _____'s) or a huge homo beater (blabh blabh waterskis balh blah i liek balls in my face blah blah overkill blah blah i read ski magazine).
 
sweater_skier do you have a sticker on your hellbents that say " YES they are great on groomers"? I saw someone at snowbird the other day with that and almost died laughing it was genius
