Ever been ripped for skiing on Rockers? I have!!!

Today at Alta I was riding up the lift with some random guys, and they unleashed on my hellbents.

Douch Bags(Them)

DB "What the fuck do you need those for? Is there any part of that ski that touches the snow?"

I "To ski some powder with, they make it easy to ski powder, and yeah they touch the snow."

DB "Yeah mine do too { he pointed to his Armada Arvs}"

I "Those are good in powder, but these thing kill the powder. It almost makes skiing powder to easy."

DB "Is it worth looking like a jackass to ski powder"

Other DB "HAHA yeah you jackass"

I "Well...... I don’t think I look like a jackass, but hey with that nice gap in-between you’re helmet and your goggle some might say you look like a jackass too"

DB "Fuck that man, I see allot of people wearing the helmets and goggles this way"

I "Sure"

Other DB “ Man, those things are a joke, you must suck if you need skis like that to ski powder"

I " Yes, Yes I suck so badly I need these over sized state of the art ski to ride in powder"

DB " What are on those the evil dead shit, what is that?"

I " Just art"

DB " Those fucking things are not normal man, get with the times and get some real skis"

I " I have a other pairs of skis, and this pair so happen to be my favorite pair"

DB " HAHA dude those suck"

At this point I just turned up my ipod

But really ripping on some one for skiing on rocker skis, and this wasn’t the first time it has happened. People just don’t get these skis.

i dont have rockered skis but i plan on getting some and i cant wait till someone hates on me!

 
You were way to nice to them...I would have talked like you until they called me a jackass, then I would just unleash and make them feel like shit, then follow them, halfway down the hill I would pass them try to ski switch and throw snowballs at them. I would probably fall skiing switch so I would go back to normal but then just cut them off and throw snowballs...
 
wow i cant believe that they went off on you like that. especially if they were skiing alta you would think theyd understand. i guess you just kind of have to suck it up at taht point and realize that they dont understand and wont open up their minds to try to understand it
 
haha unreal, the same thing has happened to me at alta a bunch, and at brighton. I usually just compliment them on their atomic's with like 3 inches of tail. then i usually ask them about how hardcore they are and go on my way
 
Wow that's ridiculous that people are getting ripped on for skiing sick skis. I can imagine something like this if there was someone with hellbents on the East Coast, but at Alta, so many people ride super fat rockered skis anyway. Sounds like some slaps to the face should have been administered.
 
man if that was me I would have snapped... They're prbably just jelous of your totally wicked skis
 
dude I hate it when people hate on you for your skis, people think im gay because I have the 181 armada r6 which are purple.If you don't understand the ski than don't hate on it
 
tell them you will capture there soul and put it in the peanut butter jar that you use to hold the nails that you eat as a snack cause thats how hard core you are. then continue to tell them that you will spend exactly five minutes laughing at thier souls everyday after you finish wrestling with the gator that you keep in you backyard. just because you are that hard core
 
i had some weird lady ask me about mine today

i was on next years EP's cause i was demoing them

and i was just waiting for my gf to come down a bit from talking to a friend and this lady was like:

her: what are those?!?!??111

me: skis?

her: those look so stupid!

me: what?

her: those must be special skis! they must be special

me: uh...yeah i guess so...

her: stupid special skis eh?

and she just rides away. she was like, 40 and fucking crazy
 
I have yet to ski a day on my dumonts without being asked "so whats it like to ski two different skis?" or "are those two different skis?"
 
I would have thrown them off the chair (my buddy actually did that to someone before).

P.S. Gaper gaps are the new baggy pants. I'm surprised to see all the hate here.
 
not to sound like such a loser but what is a rockered ski like i know its for powder and long and wide but is that the only thing?

 
Wow they are fucking retarded. When I first got my EP Pros all of the questions and comments were pretty flattering, but it gets a little annoying now. Oh and the bad jokes, jesus fucking christ. So I get my skis from the ski check and the attendant goes "One pair of waterskis coming up" everyone in the line laughs. Im like, are you kidding me? That was terrible... I am just looking at this other guy in the line with a pair of rockered skis shaking my head. Later I found out that same guy was on NS haha. Lift attendants are usually pretty with it and are really into the rockereds, but damn I get so many bad jokes on the chairlift.

Oh and one guy on the lift actually asked if they were waterskis I mounted with ski bindings, he was completely serious.
 
i feel like a lot of the older guys at alta have a really bad attitude towards our generation. I get made fun of there for having my all red baggy lethal descent suit. they just dont understand that times are changing.

haha dude its true...ive heard so many bad jokes. when i got my hellbents my boss was like "BWAHA this looks like the skis i get from people for warrantee!! BWAHAH"
 
i have yet to take out my bluehouse rockered (insert claim) protos to a resort but i am sure i will have the same experiences as you. But once you ski rockers there is no going back.
 
My skis are mounted 2cm forward of centre, and its pretty noticable. I get so many questions and remarks its rediculous. Im sick of people.
