I'm travelling to europe all february and want to know where is all the snow.

I've heard it's been shit this season but there must be somewhere with some pow and not just parks. Something must have fallen with all the recent storms and shit....

Please report....

Thanks

Snow-Forecast is useless

use the local forecast sites for the country you are in. And yeah, Europe is being shat upon during the next couple of days, expecting over a meter of fresh during the next 2 days. Thursday and Friday are gonna be powder days. St. Moritz and Livigno are taking the biggest hits this time, but this time it's everywhere even the cities.

It's getting pretty sketchy, there was no follow up to the ~40cms most of the Alps got the other week so they're pretty much back to where they started. HOWEVER, rumours swirling round of about 20ft of fresh coming soon, some places are forecasting a high of -20' soon!

It's shitting like crazy on Zürich.

That means excellent conditions at Laax, Engelberg, Davos, Andermatt, St. Moritz in the next couple of days. Combine that with the Burton European Open parties and I say FUCK YEAH.

i know that at st anton there is no snow. the base is not covered and you cannot ski off groomed trails. and the groom trails are literally a sea of joeys, i was there last year and you would be surprised at how few people ski off piste.

if you are going to austria, i would recomend saving your cash and going somewhere else

just drove back from lyon to the tarentaise valley (i.e. val d'isere, tignes, la plagne, courchevel, etc) and it was dumping the whole way... i'm at 800m now and its accumulating nicely. higher up should be sweet. the high level resorts (2000m+) weren't too bad before this anyway.

end of january = winter starts... great.

la plagne is probably a better bet than les 2 alpes for the moment - was there last week and it was pretty dire... almost no snow cover below 2500. will be sweet with a few dumps though.

you should find loads of snow in the alps in feb, its pow season.

you want to stick to the higher resorts, 1850m or over. Val will be sick, tignes the same, you might want to try the chamonix argentiere region, normally good snow around there.

bear in mind that in mid feb it is the english schools half term so val, courcheval, meribel and places will be packed, best to leave them alone at that time unless you like being swarmed by pre pube public school people.

Verbier in switz is another great place, worth going there if you get the chance, its high as wel

Haha...Røldal and Voss Fjellandsby are the two resorts with the most snow right now in Europe. 310 cm and 270 cm. And I can ski both without traveling to far. Both are in Norway.
