Euro "core" ski brands

Europe being a massive market for the ski industry (in general), I was wondering what were the "core" or smaller companies out there?

Is Faction now considered a big player? What about Black Crows?

I'd say both Faction and Black Crows count as small dogs aka core companies.

Amplid in Germany... is Movement Skis (Switzerland) still around?

I think Movement is still around, yes.

A very small company named Rip 'n Wud, based in the Alps, owned by a Canadian guy. They make pretty skis, all natural wood looking.

If we count Russia as part of the European continent, we can add Imperial skis too.

I've been skiing the Crows for a couple of years now and they make a quality pair of sticks. Both the Captis and Camox are both sick park/all mountain skis.

Might be wrong but I think Look bindings (Italy or France maybe) and Dalbello (Italy) are probably 2 of the most commonly used euro ski brands. Ski wise, faction is probs up with line/armada as successful, large (by freeski standards) brands but who are still very firmly rooted in helping progress freeskiing (see this is home for example)

I tried the Camox 2 years ago and really enjoyed them. They felt super solid, yet playful. The Atris are the ones I really want to try though.

Look is owned by Rossi ie. French, and us a major brand. Dalbello is owned by Volkl. They are one of the oldest boot manufactures in the game.

There’s a company called Zag skis based in the French alps that you see people skiing from time to time.

Right! Completely forgot about Zag! Good stuff, too.

Shiiieeet. These look GOOD. What's the feedback on them?

The headquarters are only 40min from where I live, wonder if they have demos.

i actually know/ have talked to two guys that are sponsored by them. they both love the 105's for park. i wanted to buy them myself but went with some Mags from ON3P.

just shoot them an email or contact them on facebook. super solid guys. Down actually is from skiers for skiers. They are just more into backcountry/freeride/touring but they also have some park/freestyle skis. The Throwdown 89 and 105. The skis have good reputation and the presale price is pretty hard to beat. plus you can suggest your own size and model and if there are around 20 people wanting the same model they gonna make it.

Sometimes they have some last season models floating around so just hit them up and ask..

Down skis is the shit, shoot me a Pm if you want to know more! It will be my third season riding on them, I have newer skis from them, but the 103 is just a super fun ski.

So today at a ski test I got to try a bunch of well known fun powder skis (Bent Chetler, CT 4.0, Mordecai, Catamaran) and finally a pair from a Norwegian brand I had never heard of: SGN Skis. The urRAKKAR. And they were so much fun.

Reminded me of the Bent Chetler, in a way (they have the "spoon" tech in tip and tail, kinda also like DPS, too), really controllable flex in the tip (super fun to butter), 122mm underfoot for 185cm, long early taper, 24m radius.
