I think the reason Italy couldnt hold on was because they withdrew to much. They barely posed much of a threat after they took the lead. I think they should have kept the thumpin coming.

i think that your right, and its not just italy, we see plenty of teams doing this, they go up 1 or 2 goals then bunker down and change their strategy to all defense and it just doesnt work, becuase no matter how strong your defense is, if you give another well-rounded attacking team like the sweeds the chance to build and attack right out of the backfeild your gonna keep getting hammered and eventually they will score

On the positive side I think in ther next games if Italy doesnt give up on the goal they do well cause they've got top attackers a very solid defensive strategy and a keeper that can hold his ground. I dont expect them to lose to Bulgaria even with suspended players. The next match will give them time to regroup rest and prepare for the next rounds to come (assuming they make it through). A for todays action im pulling for Holland woot.

 
Wooo big suprise Latvia tied Germany 0-0 today. Germans dominated mostly but Latvia had some good runs to the net. I think the German fans and players should consider themselves lucky though that Latvia wasnt awarded a penalty kick (can't remember what minute). Also Holland lead Chzech's 2-1, yes please.

They're defense is terrible. Sure they scored 4 goals, but they let in 2... nearly 3. Croatia also had a terrible game (Coach's to blame). Rooney's second goal was offside IMO.

Czechs are my team going into the QF... though it looks like they're playing my other favourite: Italy.

The youngest, best talent of the tornament is by far Antonio Cassano (IMO). Just wait until the Italians break-out this afternoon. 5-0? I think so. That could change goal standings instantaneously.

I think it's a little too early to be discussing who's already clinched the Golden Boot... we'll see though.

i agree my bias is overwhelming me slightly but not to the stage where im goin to go and hijack a profesional footballers opinion just because he 'knows what hes talking about'. Just because henry says cassano is amazing it doesnt meen he is it just meens thats his opinion. what i am saying is rooney is amazing, this is my opinion but also if you look at the stats of euro 2004 you will see that rooney has the most impresive stats. yes cassano is good and italy are good but i doubt theyl make it to the final and also id like to add, they are a bunch of fuckin divers!!!!

im glad italy are out, in my opinion italy arent that great to watch they are way to defensive and then they have a phase of attacking when the opposition always score, its to predictable. its a high class team that always under achieves. anyway england are in so who cares about the rest. best match of the tournament to come, england vs portugal! rooney vs ronaldo, the two hottest talents at the moment, cant wait.
