Alright, so for English class, we have an open essay opportunity and I'm going to do why skiing is better than snowboarding...

Sorry i couldn't resist, but anyways in economics we have to choose a country besides Canada and examine anything to do with their economy and I've had some trouble finding a topic any ideas? I was thinking of talking about the bailout but what would my thesis be?

anyone? mad karma for help

the skiing essay might be difficult because its an opinion piece and not everyone will share your views...
economy wise you might look at china and how they deal with the massive population. or on brazil and how they run on ethanol.

Lots of countries rely heavily on tourism, you could do something along the lines of how tourism effects the economy but also what other effects it has on the country as a whole.

-karma for trying to be funny.

On to topic though: I take it you are in Canada, one because you can't write about Canada, two your profile says you are from canada. That's enough proof for me.

I don't know how far into econ you are, but you can write about America's Consumer price indexes changing, or how the inflation/deflation effects things. I am not an elitist American, I am just saying there are so many things with our economy that's fucked up right now, it'd be easy to find data and sources. Also consider China and their trade/consumption. They can't buy resources fast enough. All of those things effect the world as a whole. Just some thoughts?

i was expecting that, but i had to take one for the team. people need to stop letting karma decide who they help/ reply to. you shouldn't have to say +k to get more replies. also, more - karma for being a dick.

You could try to find out why Scandinavian countries have some of the world's highest GDPs, i'm guessing it might have something to do with gov. regulations on industry, but I am no economics student. Best of luck with your essay though.

write about somalia's economy, and use it as an example to demonstrate how what is considered to be a crisis to some would actually be a huge upturn for others. Or how it is a black market run economy etc etc. Choose a random country with a shit economy and if you can spin that into a decent paper, the teacher should give you some credit for the creativity/more interesting topic

stop bickering, its just a number next your name. same with post counts. quit making it out to be something of great value.
