ESPN's Top 100 Athletes of the 21st Century

So ESPN is counting down their ranking of the top 100 athletes since 2000 and Shaun White came in ranked 72. I imagine the only skiers with a chance to be on the list (they haven't announced the top 50 yet) would be Mikaela Shiffrin and maybe Lindsay Vonn.

Who do you think would have been the closest skier to make it? Since the ranking seems to look at competitive results, I would think it would be either Tanner or Simon as the only ones with a chance. Would you put either of them above Charles Woodson at 100?

i dont think theres a more decorated freeskier than what shawn whites stats are so i dont see anyone making that list. Dollo has the x games medals but nothing in the olympics.

not skiing and idk if he makes it in since his career was really ‘96-‘05 but ricky carmichael is fuckin goated. 10 straight motocross titles with 2 perfect seasons and 5 supercross titles is fucked. there will never be anyone as dominant as him in a sport i dont think.

Looks like Schiffrin made the list.

Realistically the most deserving skier based on performance and dominance is Mikael Kingsbury. It's hard to find an athlete in any sport as dominant as him. But it's an American list and is American-sport-centric so no chance in hell he makes it.

Also lists like this are completely meaningless. They claim they're taking into account all sports worldwide, but 3/4 of the list is basketball and baseball. Not a single rugby player, cricket player, Aussi rules, table tennis, etc etc.

ESPN is pushing WNBA hard because they spent a shit ton of money on the rights to the games, that being said I don't think they shouldn't be included but the order of this list is cooked.
