Eric Pollard Timberline Park Laps

That flat 3 on the ip thing was fucking amazing. And I want to hit that yellow rail, looks so much fun

7:34. Mute grab. I was shocked when I first saw it

SHA SHAAA!!

Haha in what way is that not a mute grab? The skis are somewhat crossed, and he's grabbing his left ski with his right hand. I wouldn't want to send a random person $5 either, but that's definitely a mute grab.

Exactly what I was about to say. There was that one picture of him that looked like he was crossing with a handplant but it was definitely a defect in the camera lens causing it to appear that way.

are you kidding me? that's a fuckin mute just not super tweaked out like your picture.

i don't even care about the five dollars

WTFFFFF the picture you posted is a tweaked out mute, the mute in the video dodgy posted isn't as tweaked, but it's still a fucking mute grab....

also try to tell me he's not crossing the backs of his skis when he stalefishes over the transfer gap in Propaganda.

idk why I'm letting your stubbornness get to me but god damn, dude, conceding defeat when you've lost is a lot more honorable than tea-partying your way into nonsense.

(and I'm arguing on principle here, too, not for the $5)

I hope the first shot in the next Nimbus episode is just pollard doing a mute then asking for $5 from gato.

so it's not a mute unless its fully tweaked? he's grabbing his left ski in front of the binding with his right hand with his skis crossed = mute grab

you're right it is the principle

This is a bit silly. Yeah, Pollard is notorious for uncrossed grabs. It's super rare to see him cross his skis, even inadvertently. But, @ 3:13 of the video posted by "bobs", he hits the right wall, grabs right hand to left ski, and tweaks it across his right ski.

I don't know why a little hyperbole on your part has sparked so much rage in everyone, but the fact remains that the dude is grabbing mute in that shot.

As for the thread and edit, gotdamn. Such a simple approach and it all looks so natural and flowy. I feel like his style embodies what the majority of us all aspire to...just with a lot more talent.

I don't know, maybe it's an age/generational thing, but growing up, I don't feel like we were all trying to outspin each other. Not hating on tech tricks, or engaging in another debate about "style" vs. tech, just an observation. We spent days hiking the park trying to get presses, not trying to do all 8. Or, maybe we just sucked.

Pollard has the best park style.

Anyone who hasnt should see his few jump shots in IDEA, or his few park shots in Push as well. He does a rodeo 9 in Push that still blows my mind, just the most perfect rotation.

its a critical, right had to INSIDE of left ski. skis look crossed cause they're scissored...though the one in royalty in the pipe IS a mute.

I definitely saw it as him grabbing the outside of the left ski, but oh well. You could be right. So much in skiing is open for interpretation, kinda like art.

I'm old and don't log on much anymore, but seeing this made me happy to know NS still has hope. I love what the new kids are doing as much as everyone else, I promise, but Pollard has been way ahead of his time for as long as skis could go backwards effectively.

i think those were prototypes that never got released to the public

i would guess 05/06 season? pretty sure those are in the push/pull era
